Let’s destroy Marquette
My guess is they give 1.5. We win
BTW, AJax is our true pg. Bring the ball up, distribute. You know, all the things. No crumbs on Newton (how the hell we got him out of the portal...pure genius that was). But AJax was setting Newton up to be the sg this afternoon. Just saying.
Tru dat. We have all the pieces plus depth. Great win.

It's fine. Still a W. I'm hoping your second option holds up. Next time they're up big, they better keep at it. Not too worried.

Bad. 100% bad. Nothing good about that at all. You could see the fear in the eyes and the body language. This team's margin of error is very slim. Forget teaching moments.......it's too late for teaching moments. We obviously do not thrive in close, tense, pressure situations. There was 100% nothing good about the way that 2nd half transpired other than the final outcome.

A field goal is a 3-point or a 2-point shot. He was 4/7 from the floor anywhere... and 1/4 from 3 point land. So he made 3 2-point shots and 1 3-point shot.
This is painful to watch

AD Dave should have this game under protest with a review from the league office. Actually it should have been done with the first meeting when PC got to the line nearly 30 times. PC was pushing, shoving and elbowing on every posession and is doing it because they know they can get away with it.

Bad. Always bad. Gives Shaka a clear scout of what made UConn fizzle tomorrow, puts miles on key guys legs instead of letting them rest, and it’s a 50/50 of will this motivate them to go out and kill tomorrow, or will it shake their confidence and break them tomorrow? We’ve seen both happen in the last 2 months

Fun facts:

Providence had a NET of 53 before losing today.
11 of PC's 21 wins are Quad 4 wins
PC has a losing record against Quads 1 through 3

Does Providence deserve an at-large bid?

Weak bubble

He needs to have the balls to either take out Andre, or somehow refocus him. He killed us down the stretch, and played poor defensively on Locke.
That's really my sole criticism of Hurley -- he gives Jackson way too long a leash. Maybe because he knows Jackson is a little fragile mentally and doesn't respond well to tough-love coaching, but there is way too much trying to make the exciting play rather than the winning play for a player who hasn't won enough to get away with that.

I am going to look at it this way. When Geno had Taurasi he would say the difference we won because we had Diana and the didn’t. By the time this post season is over that is what we are going to say. Did you see the look in his eye right before he made the big three. We got Jordan and they don’t. Plus we have AK. What a clutch three. There is more pressure on the players in this type of a situation than if the game was close all the way. He stepped into it not even his best side of the floor and drilled it. Tristan making the two free throws one and one was also impressive. I think what happened is going to be good for us as we move forward. They all new if they blew that lead there would have been all kind of bad karma going on before the first NCAA game.

As awful as the 2H meltdown was to witness, I think it was a good thing. It gave us some close late-game experience which we haven't had a lot of. And persevering (regardless of how we got there) should hopefully give the guys some confidence should we be in a similar crunch-time situation again. Now, we can't forget how we got there...which I think should serve as motivation to not let up in games, ever. Don't see much of a downside. Plus, we won and advanced! Now we play a Marquette team we know we can beat.

You gotta preserve your freakouts. You're going to hopefully have plenty of opportunities over the next couple weeks to melt down. Don't burn yourself out in game one of the BET.
It was more confusion, we were blowing them out, we ended up winning by 7. That’s not a blowout, right?

That sounds like good wisdom right there.

And btw, I was all praise during the first half and the first ~10 mins of the second in the chat. I think it’s understandable to be a bit dumbstruck by a 26 point lead going down to 5 in like, 6 in game minutes.

Takeaways

1) We can be the best team in the country in spurts. We need to figure out how to sustain it.
2) Karaban is the guy, Hawkins is not the guy. Hurley realizes thank goodness.
3) The team is palpably nervous in tight situations. Was at the game and could literally see the anxiousness and fear on the guy's faces (particularly Sanogo) when the game got to 5 and Providence fans got into it).
4) Providence fans are obnoxious. Every one of them thinks they are God's special Rhode Island Christian baby. Nauseating.
