Providence Post Game Thread

  1. That’s exactly the way to finish a game that we didn’t see against Seton Hall. Played down the stretch poised, confident, shared the ball, no turnovers, handled the press, etc. gotta like it
  2. We rebounded and shot lights out. Hard to lose a game when you do those things well.
  3. Freshman of the Year. Won the battle against a potential BE POY. ‘Nuff said.
  4. Help D was for the most part spot on, just a couple lapses.
  5. The bench led by Clingan & Alleyne was really solid.

Hurley can’t win the close one

I clicked like and got this message. Never seen it before, but cracked me up.

Great Team win! No meltdowns, those who played contributed. Took Hopkins out of his usual game. AK nice rebound game against PC. Hawkins started off poorly but heated up. People have been Poo-pooing on Sanogo, but he stepped up without many plays run for him. Defense was very good, better than PC's and they are a very good defensive team!

A couple of plays tonight by Hawkins were NBA all-star level good. When he ran Carter who is an awesome defender all the way around the court like three times before getting the ball at the three point line and driving left to finish off the glass over several players. The catch and shoot three where he was facing the other end of the court on the gather, rose up and squared his body up in the air for the all net three.

Another good all around game by Alleyne.
3-3 on 3 point shots and steady defense as usual.
Well, he was good in spurts but why those 2 reach in fouls and the the foul from behind?
None of those are were “good” fouls and he needs to sharpen it up a bit;
Did like the effort on D and yes, great on 3 ball.

We had a couple really nice offensive rebounds (Jackson lots of good hustle), but the defensive rebounding and getting into transition in the 2nd half was huge. We were holding them to misses (outside of fouls) and then we just boxed out, cleared out, and grabbed and went.

I’ll be the one….

The refs sucked again. Bad calls both ways.
There’s just no consistency half to half or game to game.
I think it was 5 minutes into the second half before we went to the line.
Foul on Diarra when Bynum pushed off was insane, as was the call on Croswell when AS was backing him down.

He is tremendous. With some added strength he surely could be nba all star caliber.
Certainly look like a lottery pick.

Yup, senior night was for the seniors, but we saw the last of Hawkins at Gampel. The kid has come a long way in 2 years.
