Since the whole crap conference situation began, our football program scheduled home and homes with BYU and Boise, and our bball program scheduled Maryland at Barclays and got invited to Coaches vs Cancer at MSG.

Our scheduling will be just fine. And if we did pass on a series with PC, it's because we're holding out for Villanova or Georgetown. Beating those teams actually means something come Selection Sunday.

Just heard that UConn has indeed chickened out. Big surprise there. UMass all over again. Your rival school is apparently Cincinnati, wow. And fans wonder why UConn has no team that can actually be considered without argument its rival.

If you had any stones and blackballed BC like Calhoun did back when they ducked the BE over twice behind our backs I'd have more respect for you and your school.

So if the "rivalry" ahem is indeed over and you're feeling grief over it than that makes me happy..

If everyone was honest for a second it was clear Syracuse was our biggest rival.
Many of their fans felt the same way.
Thats why when Cuse announced they were leaving it was over. At least for most UConn people.

We should rightfully not schedule any former BE teams for at least a couple of yearts.

I've been around a long time and look back fondly on memories with our old Yankee Conference Rivals
But they are just that memories. Impossible to recreate.
We should all look back on BE days fondly, but not now.

Your friend Friar understood exactly what I wrote about UConn's scheduling. Read the thread and educate yourself.
As for UConn football, that will be the ticket for the eventual split, when the football schools break away from the NCAA and leave the rest of the schools behind. You can bet they have little interest in sharing all those hundreds of millions with 1,000s of schools like the NCAA does now.

This is my exact point. You have to insure enough home OOC games against top national opponents each year. In order to do that, you have to schedule a lot of home and homes. It goes without saying that I'm assuming CBS Network would have little interest in UConn-Providence. When you add the numbers up, this leaves UConn with 4 or 5 open games (depending on holiday tourneys). So, every time you schedule a team that won't be shown on CBS (like Providence) you reduce the number of cupcakes. In this scenario, you're down to 3 cupcake games. I'm sure the fans will like that. I wonder if the AD's office will as it loses revenue.

What is it about the post you quoted that you don't understand? With cupcake games, UConn gets the home gate. How difficult is that for you to understand. Games against regional teams (because PC is not a national team) would cut into the 4 or 5 opportunities UConn has to play cupcakes. Why don't you guys try to improve the level of your play first and then try again in several years, then maybe CBS Network would be willing to show a UConn Providence game. If you think CBS wants to show that now, you're deluded.

We don't know who those teams are going to be, but someone of Georgia Tech, Duke, NC State, Virginia Tech, maybe Miami, Wake Forest, and the former BE teams, will still be in the ACC. Of the 6 spots, 4 slots are reserved for UNC, UVa, Clemson and FSU. Two more teams will leave. No one knows which. The football conferences are not going to lock out Notre Dame, the former Big East schools, and 4 of Georgia Tech, Duke, NC State, Virginia Tech, Miami and Wake Forest. Ain't going to happen.

Wow, your math is bad. Did you learn math at Providence, or were your deficiencies ingrained before?

UConn has a season ticket base. The games are sold on that basis. For Hartford, 12,000 is the floor.
