Compare that to Whaley's line tonight...

I can only hope you have zero complaints with how Whaley played. Minus his last 2 ill advised errors (stupid foul and not running the baseline on the in bounds) he was an absolute warrior in this game. The stat sheet won’t do him any justice but if you know basketball he was real good!

@tcf15 credit the Polley train moniker at least?

It’s not even close Tyler won this game down 21-10 and until the end
He hit every big shot and even got a hard nosed rebound down the stretch and got it back for another dagger. Also got a tough traffic rebound and sank the 2 ft's. He's flat out won several games for us in his UConn career, a lot of solid players have come through here who can't say the same.

He'll give you a lot of nothing statlines but when he's on he's a game changer.

I love that he didn’t play scared. He absolutely set the tone for this team early in first half with those couple threes before Hawkins took over for a few. And then more or less benched until late ( while Hurley tried to play prevent defense) and simply stepped up again.

You know you can shoot when even your misses look like they are going in. He had one that was almost down and another that was on target but just a hair long.

I got killed on this board for talking up Tyler in offseason. Luckily this board has searchable history and I have names.
I got killed for even mentioning Sanogo's name in the same sentence as Okafors. Now you can't just go by stats because even though he had 30, 6 and 2 blocks the announcer noticed that often we rebound against each other as much as the other team. Sanogo is still in early sophomore year in development, not yet a finished product too.

I'd love to read that list.

Huge game deserves to start instead of Jackson
Starting is not the most important thing. Let Coach Hurley use his players the way he sees fit.
They are developing winning roles for NATY 5.

He was awesome today and without him UConn loses today.

If UConn shoots well they will be hard to beat this year

The first team comes in and beats guys up, tires them out.

Then Polley sneaks around during 2nd half and crunch time for quick hitters and capitalizing on the tired legs to find space.

It's a hell of a formula for daggers

Agree. He’s streaky, ride the wave when we can. He’s an asset to the team. There’s other players that should be able to pick him up when he’s having an off night.

Polley's back. Just took a while but the experience seems to have given him a little confidence boost.

What I really like about T P is he does not hesitate to shoot the ball when the game is on the line. Sign of a confident shooter. Similar to Rashad Anderson.
