More than just offense too! He was tough on defense including the corner 3 attempt near end of 2nd overtime, he made it difficult for Jabari Smith and didn't foul him either. Numerous times he contested for the rebound and even if he didn't get it, he often helped to keep the ball alive so a teammate could grab it.

Kinda like the Creighton game last year (or whatever game, I’m getting too old to remember). Hopefully he’ll build off this game and have more like them. He’s tough to face up with his height

I only see greatness from him the rest of the year. He had a lot on his shoulders the past few years as all of us expected him to be the only shooter on a team that couldn't shoot. Now with other guys taking the heat off he can relax and not force things. The best Uconn win in the last 7 years. If he can do that against a great defensive team, that is who he is.

Huge effort by Tyler. What's happens when you don't ask guys to do things they aren't good at. If he, Hawkins, RJ, Martin and Gaff can hit from outside we're tough.

Can't expect to shoot 50% from three but I also don't expect 20 TO's either.

Compare that to Whaley's line tonight...

Seven rebounds, 4 blocks and 4 assists from Whaley. I'll take that. Plus he made Smith work his tail off on offense and Whaley did it without help defense. As of now it's obvious Whaley won't be scoring much this year. I think it's a fair prop bet to say he averages more rebounds than points this season.

Cole, Polley, Martin, Whaley = experience and Hurley will ride them as far as he can.

Polley is really hard to defend from outside because his release point is so high that he isn't really defended even when he looks like he is defended. Like Cole, he is much better shooting off the catch than the bounce.

Polley came in to the game 5-18 from 3 for a 27.7%. He went 6-9 today so he's 11-27 for the season, 40.7%. Just don't expect a steady line from him every game.
Like in baseball that's why it's an average. Some games will be above 40% and some below. But I expect he'll be a low 40s from 3 shooter for the year.

Yup there will be plenty of games where Jackson or Akok have 20+ and Tyler has a goose egg. Nice to have to depth and not rely on 2 people to score all your points.

Was never worth overreacting to the bad games, we all knew he was capable of getting hot and doing this. He stepped up when we needed it, and did plenty of little things other than his 3's too
Yup. And Jackson could have a great game tomorrow and Polley not so much. We are really deep so not everyone is going to be able to put up the numbers we expect of them each game.

Good things happens when he shows up. He got to his spots and he didn't force things off the dribble.

This is why he came back to Storrs this year. All good
