^^^From that same article:

Who he reminds us of: Ali has some Dwyane Wade-like slashing and above-the-rim finishing ability. He also has a little of Doron Lamb’s scoring traits and flashes of Victor Oladipo defensively with his ability to pressure the ball.

Like the player comparisons, love the movie reference

You have figure Ollie says that to every kid. Makes you wonder which kids didn't want to hear it and chose other schools. That's not a knock on Ali or Ollie, so don't take it the wrong way.

What, you saying that there's folks on this board that could possibly take it any other way than you intended and mistakenly jump on down your throat?

Seems like we have a lot of ball handlers & slashers coming in (Hamilton, Purvis, Cassell), which is great! Hopefully we can secure a pass first PG (to set the offense), another dead eye shooter like Richardson (when lanes are closed) and another big bruising, big guy for rebounds, inside toughness & intimidation, similar to Lubin, but maybe a Center type? This would solidify our rotation & be able to compete with anyone in any type of game.

Cheick Diallo has to be looking at all this talent coming in and realize that he is looking at 20 minutes a game at center as a freshman!

Here's a good article on his commitment with a very good quote:
http://www.miamiherald.com/2013/11/25/3779244/sagemont-star-prince-ali-to-play.html

“I pictured myself being in the spotlight like Napier and performing like he did on Friday” Ali said. “My No. 1 goal is to make it to the NBA, and UConn is a Hall of Fame for guards. Coach Kevin Ollie definitely lets his guards play and that played a huge part in my decision.”

Did you mean to put a smiley face after this question? Please tell me you're pulling some chains!
He tweeted to DeAndre Daniels saying something about next year. So my question is answered. Glad to have them both.

Fly like a butterfly sting like a bee, what better combination than Prince Ali and Coach Ollie. First off, I can't believe no one dropped this classic Ali quote! Secondly, I watched my son's favorite show, How I met your mother, and the whole show was done in rhymes. Although it annoyed the h*ll out of me, it did get me primed for dropping that classic quote.

We welcome all 10 of your toes, PA! Can't wait till you get here.

Reading his quotes, I love this kid already. I'll take 10 Ali's who want to earn their minutes over the ones that are looking for a program and coach that promise them.

Daniel is 2014 and Ali 2015. Daniel came out and said himself that he's planning on playing here and not going to change his mind. It made absolutely no sense as to why you would even bring this up. We're all celebrating this news and you feel it's your mission to grab the presents and run?!?!

I think we need to institute a Negative Nancy award each week. You're my current leader. ;)

He meant Hamilton in 2014 (next year) with Daniels staying and playing xbox stuff together.

Before everyone lacerates my throat, I speculated. With the current condition of Hamilton not signing a LOI and then a commit from a highly touted 2015 guard, I felt like it was a normal speculation.

I do want Hamilton to be a Husky. I do want Ali to be a Husky. I'm not trying to sabotage everyone's fun.

My response had nothing to do the Xbox thing. It had to do with ctbasketball's comment that the Prince Ali commitment was a sign that the staff was concerned about Hamilton's commitment.

No one is questioning your desire we get both. It's connecting the dots between the two recruits that has us all scratching our heads. They are in two completely different classes. There's absolutely no connection between them. Ollie simply is kicking ass on the recruiting trail with his attention on the 2015 class.

Strange quote from the Sun Sentinel article, or at least it struck me as strange.

"Ross said he went with Ali on his visit to Storrs, Conn., the nearly 11,000-person village which is home to UConn."

Unless we are talking about some third-world, thatched-hut community, who uses the word "village" in this day and age?

Town/community would have been better. I think that is what he was trying to convey.

"Village" - has become a hot buzzword. You know..."it takes a village".
