Sleep is for the weak, 4-5 hrs a night is all the sleep I need.
You’re obviously not an athlete.
Or were you just being sarcastically?

The B1G is in 4 time zones and it’s absolutely killing them financially. What idiots.
Correct in 1979 - St John's, Syracuse, Georgetown, Boston College, UConn, Providence and Seton Hall - Rutgers and Holy Cross turned it down. Nova joined the next year.
A version of the story is that Nova didn’t turn down the Big East invite, but had already committed to the Eastern Eight for the 79-80 season. Nova won the Eastern Eight in its last committed year then joined the Big East in its second season. Pitt followed Nova from the Eastern Eight a few years later.Correct in 1979 - St John's, Syracuse, Georgetown, Boston College, UConn, Providence and Seton Hall - Rutgers and Holy Cross turned it down. USC and UCLA are in the Pacific time zoneActually they’re in 2 time zones.
USC and UCLA are in the Pacific time zone
When are they joining the B1G? Is it this coming season?USC and UCLA are in the Pacific time zone
Next summer, so one more season of all sports for them in the Pac 12When are they joining the B1G? Is it this coming season?
This will be my last post to you before you go back on ignore where you belong, because you've made it clear for the last year plus you're just a troll and not a UConn fan.But they’re not in the B1G until 2024. And at that point, they’ll add a 3rd time zone. The B1G will not be in 4 time zones.
The claim (sarcastically) was that “the Big Ten is in 4 time zones and it’s absolutely killing them financially.” Being in 4 time zones had nothing to do with their financial success. Was not a factor one way or the other. They achieved it while in 2 time zones.
Never said Nova turned it down just they didn't join till the following yearNova had a seat at the table right at the beginning. Contractual obligations to the Eastern 8 prevented their teams from competing in the first year because they were required to give a year’s notice before exiting.
You sure about that? WV has always been considered part of the northeast. At least it’s not in 3 time zones like the new Big XII.
And the Big East has only 3 members outside the Eastern time zone. The Big XII has only 3 members actually in the Eastern TZ - and none of those in the Northeast.
You can’t get there from anywhere. Ever try to fly to Morgantown? You sure about that? WV has always been considered part of the northeast.
Which makes sense.
If Western Maryland and Western PA are a part of it, WV is a part of it.
Traditionally (no real political division):You sure about that? WV has always been considered part of the northeast.

Can you give me a link for that? I can give you many links for what I wrote.Traditionally (no real political division):
New England: 6 states east and north of NY.
Northeast: New England + NY, NJ, PA
Mid Atlantic: NY, NJ, PA, MD, DE, WVA, VA
New England states are also part of the Northeast.
NY, NJ, and PA are part of both the Northeast and the Mid Atlantic.
WVA, MD, DE, and VA are part of both the Southeast (South of the Mason Dixon line) and the Mid Atlantic.
Ever try flying into Storrs? It takes 10-15 minutes longer to get to Morgantown from the airport than it does to get to Storrs from the airport. Are we seriously here talking about 10-15 minutes? You can’t get there from anywhere. Ever try to fly to Morgantown?
Yes, when an athlete's body crosses a "time zone" there is some kind of force field barrier that saps their purity of essence and makes them less effective competitors. One of the things I’m surprised not to see mentioned is the impact of travel through 2 time zones up to 2000 miles on student athletes.
When did anyone ever consider NY state as part of the mid-Atlantic?Traditionally (no real political division):

"We"? Last I checked Villanova was not a founding member of the original Big East. Just another add on we picked up along the way.Don’t forget the ones we accepted from the Yankee Conference
Northeastern United States - WikipediaCan you give me a link for that? I can give you many links for what I wrote.
You're breaking things down into sub-regions. Connecticut isn't Midatlantic. West Virginia is. West Virginia isn't New England, Connecticut is. Neither are in the southeast.
Both are in the northeast.
I guess it depends on what gov't site you're looking at.

If you're breaking it down into Northeast and Midatlantic, it's Midatlantic. If you just have Northeast, Southeast, Midwest, West, it's northeast. I've never seen it southeast
I have never heard anyone say that West Virginia is in the Northeast. That is a real stretch you are making there.
Even PA is split between the Northeast and Great Lakes (Midwest) region even though the whole state is usually included in the Northeast region
No way is WV considered Northeast. WV is well accepted to be in the Southern United States and also part of the "Appalachia" region of the USA.
Yeah, I read past that once I saw WV.yup. and apparently. as per your DOL list Puerto Rico is also in the Northeast. lol
c'mon... this is only for administrative purposes of the DOL. No one in their right mind believes WV is a Northeastern state
So adjacent to the NortheastYeah, I read past that once I saw WV.
Fair to say it's included in midatlantic but not northeast.
I would say, however, that the school has been part of the northeast for a very long time, as it played a northeast football and basketball schedule, it joined the BE. Until it moved to the B12, where it is an outlier, it was considered a northeastern school, just an hour from the next nearest northeastern schools.
PA is split between NE or Midwest? You're making crazy stuff up now; where do you get this stuff?
Appalachia runs north of where I live, and I live on the Canadian border.

I'm not sure it still exists, but years ago there was a hospital organization called the Mid-Atlantic Hospital Assembly. It was comprised of hospitals from NY, NJ and PA and held its annual meeting every April in Atlantic City. When did anyone ever consider NY state as part of the mid-Atlantic?
I've been in the business world for more than forty years, for various reporting purposes I've seen the country segmented by corporations, the US government, third party consultants, research companies and various other sources and none has ever placed NY in the mid-Atlantic. Often the northern 1/3 of New Jersey is excluded.
