Impressive win for Xavier beating Va Tech, while missing four of their top players (3 due to the flu).
 
I think the haters don't even look at the gamed. They'll see a loss and look to drop us out of the top 25. It's so hard to get there, and so easy to get dropped. I don't think there are 10 teams better than us with out full lineup
 
I voted 20-25. Certainly no reason to drop out after a close neutral court loss to MSU and two wins. It’s good to stay ranked as long as possible. Helps visibility.

Playing 3 games in 3 days against 3 tough physical teams and coming out 2-1 in those games should not be an excuse to drop us at all. they had to play against Michigan State without Whaley and were beaten (IMNSHO) by a pitiful foul called on RJ that sealed the deal for Michigan State. 17 I will put them at.

I don't think Michigan State is all that good. Not a top 25 team IMO, more in that 35-45 range. That's a game we never should've lost, a lot had to go wrong for UConn to lose that one. Auburn is really good.

Did you see what vcu did to us. St. John’s can play like that. So can West Virginia.
 
I've never seen such a wide split of opinions on a team. All the way from Final 4 good to missing the tournament after those Atlantis games

Do not disagree, but if they run into a team with two quick guards they get blown out by 100 because they have zero offensive sets and if they get beat off the bounce it is over.

yes I did. They lost to us.
 
Depends in part on how other teams fared this week (haven't really kept track aside from Auburn), but I expect us to tread water in the rankings, as we should after a 2-1 week with a good win and a not-unreasonable loss.

Not so sure about that one. They already have 4 losses. I think you need about 22-23 wins in the A-10 to get an at-large bid. That’s going to be tough for them.

Simply referencing the manner in which they ball pressure. They made us real uncomfortable last year in a similar manner that vcu did.

Except they’re not really even close to VCU, at least not this year. VCU and MSU have 2 of the top 4(!!!) defenses in CBB according to kenpom. WVU is ranked in the 60s the last time I checked, and St. johns in the 70s. Auburn was in the 30s..Ya know, the same team we just scored 115 points on.

What is our next noon tip less than 18 hours after a double OT game?

Everyone outside a few dopes on this board see a 3rd place finish with a win over what will be a top 15 maybe 10 team and another probable tourney team as a good trip for this early in the year.

Get the dump out of your pants, we cannot play LIU every night.
 
I think we will be ranked. Several teams picked up losses this week and UConn picked up a solid win over Auburn.

This is all irrelevant to the point of, scoring 60 points and losing is bad. It hurts your computer numbers and W/L. I doubt voters care we played a double OT game the day before, and they shouldn't because we put ourselves in that position by giving up our lead in the second half. People are right that we're probably moving up, but it's more to do with teams ahead of us losing.

The same way voters don’t care we played double OT they don’t care we scored 60. We had a good win an ok loss and avoided a bad loss. We are going to stay in the top 25 and have minimal movement.
