Based on AP poll preseason

7 ND @ 6 Ole Miss // v 1 Georgia* SUG or PCH
nr Boise* @ 3 Oregon // v 12 Utah* FIESTA

8 Pn St @ 5 Bama // v 2 Oh St* ROSE
9 Mich @ 4 Texas // v 10 FlaSt* PCH or SUG

Conference champs are to be placed in “traditional” bowls which would mean Ga in Sugar. Though I’d think Dawgs would prefer Peach (and FSU Sugar).

FSU loses. And with Clemson and Miami underdogs in their games this week ... NC St could be in next week.

Then the Pack face Tenn after that. The ACC could fall to the 5th conference champ, except that Boise goes to Oregon.

Gonna be lotsa movement next few weeks.

Playoffs?!?

But as a power (the BE actually had that status) conference champion we would have been given an automatic bid.

This is true, but I like that the "not champs" will have to go on the road for the semis
This year top 5 FBS teams are SEC. Only team not in the SEC to have a good chance is OSU. Long shots are Miami, Oregon, Penn State and USC. ACC will be competitive within conference but do not have any elite team except perhaps Miami.

No way Boise State beats Alabama or Georgia or Texas. The sim you a running is off. I could see Boise have a chance against Big 12 champion but I think they would struggle against Clemson and Miami and low chance against any of SEC teams make the CFP.

Mizzou will drop out
Opportunity for Ole Miss to get back in with a win at 3-1 SoCar

Vandy is pretty good but can you keep Bama in the top 10 after losing to the Commodores?
