We are not immune to such issues and I think most of us agree that it was probably a good decision by Piath. We wish her nothing but the best.
That's right. Players want to play. There is a mid-major program that would welcome her and provide her the opportunity to play lots of minutes. I never expect any player to be satisfied with sitting on the bench. That sucks, but kids want to play. Good luck to her where ever she ends up.
We don't know how much of a factor the lack of playing time was.She probably wants more playing time. Best of luck to her
No attack on your comment but that was already a need, it now becomes a need for two from the portal. This forces the need to bring in a big from the portal. Good luck Paith !!!

Again no attack but some players are recruited for future potential or to fill a roster. One has to wonder why anyone would wonder about recruiting decisions from a school that has won 11 national championships. Young players develop in the classroom and on the court at at different ages and not a perfect science to predict. If true, one wonders about the recruiting decisions.
Not if she actually does have academic issues.Would Shea be a possibility?
EDD?I can't quote his statement exactly either, but I recall it as being closer to "No one who has left the UConn program has been an impact player on a Top 20 team."
That is not as insulting to the players that left as the version that you offered.
Of course, there is the case of Elena Della Donne, but that is a VERY special case. And even in her case, the University of Delaware would not qualify as a top-level team.
YesBest of luck to Piath. Can't really blame the kid. In her entire college career she played how many minutes? Things were not looking better for next year. Find the right program and things will be better. Of the 350+ D1 schools I bet 200 would very much love to have Piath. Godspeed Piath.
Realistically, there will almost never be more than three in a class who graduate. The three left are pretty awesome. And then there were three (Paige, Nika and Aaliyah). Good luck wherever you end up, Piath.
You hit on some recruits and miss on some recruits. That’s just part of recruiting high school kiddos. If true, one wonders about the recruiting decisions.
Since beginning of this season:
3 Seniors graduating.
3 transferring out.
40% roster turnover
(so far)
2 confirmed Recruits incoming
Aubrey questionable for start of season?
I’d say we’re short.
Abby Meyers-COME ON DOWN...
Amari had better LIVE in the gym this summer.
Completely different circumstancesI can't quote his statement exactly either, but I recall it as being closer to "No one who has left the UConn program has been an impact player on a Top 20 team."

Never played at UConn.EDD?
Transferred and my point is made.Never played at UConn.
Only EDD didn't play basetball at Delaware after she left. She played volleyball, and then the following year she played basketball.I can't quote his statement exactly either, but I recall it as being closer to "No one who has left the UConn program has been an impact player on a Top 20 team."

I think that you are on target here. He probably told her that her Junior year wouldn't be too different than this year, as far as playing time, even though her game has improved. Good move on her part to make her move now. Best of luck Piath! This is the time of the year when Geno sits down with each player, individually, and assesses where they are, and what their future at UConn is. One can only guess what Geno told Piath.
She left to play volleyball at Delaware. Even when she played basketball they weren’t a top 20 team. The closest I can think of would be Walker at Kentucky.EDD?
I think she might have an Uncle Peter who played guitar for the rock band Genesis. Not positive though.Does she have a brother or relative that plays for the Lakers ?
