It is not an iu shirt maybe the kids aau team that he kids dad is involved with.

So I'm assuming Iona will now have a top 10 recruiting class.
More like Top 10 quality visits. If I recall correctly, we never really did s*** recruiting wise while we had "Bunk". So someone tell me what I'm missing?

.-.
Snow at end still predicts that Scruggs will stay in Midwest. With another Illinois visit and mal visiting next weekend dominos might fall where he does decide between x and iu. Who knows. Good looking player whoever ends up with him.

yeah, can see brian snows comment on the bottom: "and before you freak out, no i dont think paul is going to uconn" for a xavier premium board.

Anyone with a brief summary? Thx

Four-star combo guard Paul Scruggs made his long awaited second official visit over the weekend. Scruggs, who made an earlier official visit to Xavier as well as an unofficial to Indiana, made the trip to Connecticut to visit Kevin Ollie and the Huskies program.

“Coach Ollie and his staff were great,” said Scruggs. “It was good to get to know them and I feel he could be a great mentor to me if I went to school there.”

Unlike the rest of the schools on his list, Scruggs had never been to Connecticut before. Because of that this visit was different than the others, and it definitely left a good impression.

“My first experience was a great one,” said Scruggs. “The whole team was really cool, and they seemed like a big family.”

Scruggs has maintained a desire to play the point guard position in college, and though he is still adjusting to being a full time floor general, the Huskies say he could thrive in their system.

“They say that they want to use me as a point guard and they like my motor,” explained Scruggs. “They feel that because of how I grind and how I work that I can be a great player there.”

Scruggs is beginning to wind down his previously scheduled visits. The only remaining trip that has been scheduled is next weekend to Illinois. Also it remains possible that he could make return visits to Indiana or Xavier as well as a visit to Michigan State, but nothing has been decided in that regard.

Anyone that would rather have, if a choice had to be made, Scruggs over MAL?

I think it's a tough one on who'd I prefer but ultimately I prefer the guy who wants to be a Husky now.

I'll take first in line

Paul Scruggs visits UConn, planning Michigan State, Indiana trips

"The visit went very well," Mike Peterson, Scrugg's AAU coach, told SNY.tv. "It was our first time out to UConn, it was a very impressive trip. [Coach Kevin] Ollie does a great job, I don't see UConn spiraling downward at all in terms of getting top players and top talent. He does a great job, that's a really good dude. He leaves a lasting impression on recruits, that's for sure."

UConn also hosted 6-9 DeMatha Catholic (Md.) center Josh Carlton, and he and Scruggs spent time together.

"We had dinner and breakfast with him and hung out," Peterson said. "He's definitely a big kid."

He apparently cancelled his trip to Illinois. I don't know if that was posted on here earlier and I missed it, but saw an article from 2 hours ago that said he did. Also said UConn's distance from his home could be a negative, not that we're so far.

Paul Scruggs completes second official visit, cuts Big Ten school

“UConn is a great institution and Paul really liked the place,” said Mike Peterson, who took the visit with Scruggs and is his coach with the grassroots Indy Hoosiers program. “UConn has a top-notch point guard (Alterique Gilbert) and (coach Kevin) Ollie said he needs a big guard like Paul that can play either guard position. We know Ollie has played it at the highest level and could help Paul’s maturation.”

The distance from home could be a potential negative in UConn’s recruitment of Scruggs.

That's the type of thing I read too much into.

Snow thinks he's Xavier bound
He has followed their entire team and staff on Twitter. Only team he's done that for.

It's still great that we got a visit. If he ever needs a change down the road and we are a good fit, maybe the connection he made with KO could make something happen to benefit both sides. With a charismatic coach like Ollie, I'll gladly take any official visit.

I dont really see how scruggs fits with MAL, forget MAL+ Hami+ Scruggs, but ...

I would have said your premise was silly 2-3 years ago, but with Purvis and Larrier coming our way after stints at other schools, it has merit.

Ollie makes a great impression and when you make a bad decision, you seek the safe option. KO and UConn offer a safe option for kids we missed on that eventually need to transfer. Building a pipeline is what it's all about. All these offers and visits build a diverse pipeline long term that doesn't hinge entirely on freshmen.
