If you wanna go to a Catholic school to play basketball you go to Georgetown, not Providence.
How about this- why go to any catholic schools when you're Muslim?

I was referring to Chuckwu, not Abu. Isn't Chuckwu Christian? Concerning religion, most athletes at Notre Dame aren't Catholic. Just sayin'. But I agree that if I was a devote Muslim, going to a Catholic university would be awkward to say the least.

I think I was a little confused as well. For some reason I thought chukwu was Muslim also, but I think Brimah is the one who I mixed him up with. Classic 7 footer mix up

If the rumor are true then it is time to move on. I never thought a center was a must in this class but a point, small forward and a power forward are

If he chooses any school besides uconn, honestly- shame on him. Have fun going nowhere if you pick st joes or pc. Dude, have ya heard of emeka, thabeet, or Andre Drummond? Good centers go to our school...

Andre Drummond would have never even been drafted if he did not spend all those years at UConn.

I know. Very similar to Ledo. PC got him into the league

Drummond actually played at UConn, just spare me the development BS

Why has the UConn program not developed players for the NBA MUCH BETTER than providence? Is that even debatable?

Spare me that UConn developed Drummond. Obviously not referring to Okafor. JC turned him into a stud. Thabeet is was and always has been a stiff. Don't kill me for it, it's only my opinion. Yes, he is a rich stiff and I believe UConn has a lot to do with it.

which is kind of our point

You can't continue to coach a player once he's left your school....

So take out Drummond. UConn has developed countless others in recent years. Let's see Providence's list. I'm guessing you won't tire out typing that's for sure.

I'm trying to agree without kissing your sorry azzes. I have not even started on the JC, Sellers, LaFleur, etc... are gone part. Please don't make me. From a pure basketball perspective to any top recruit, UConn would be favored (3 NC's in 15 years for ) It's not always about that.

You win, you get Chukwu! Oh wait, you don't have a say.

No one cares what you have to say and yet you are still typing over here. Isn't there another board you can post on, just wondering.

Why go to any other school if you are Catholic? Does something happen to your collective brains when a recruit is in jeopardy of going elsewhere? The crazy BS flows. (Chukwu is Christian, not that it matters, although for reasons only they can explain his guardians prefer Catholic schools) You do realize that Muslim men and women get good educations at Catholic schools everyday right? You may get a great education at UConn but you might want to actually leave the area to learn about the world it seems from some of these ignorant posts I see on recruits religious affiliation.

OK Bill, don't respond to me, simple. No one cares, no one responds. Even you can deduct that. I don't even have to engage you in your funny as hell cesspool for you to understand.

people here just don't understand why you would go to a uconn board and trash the kids we've gotten to the pros, when PC doesn't compare.

Not the point, but when you're comparing which program develops players for the NBA, its not even close. Why you would pretend otherwise or ask to "be spared the development" bs, you're deluding yourself into thinking that isn't or shouldn't be important to a higher profile recruit choosing a college. If a seven foot center goes to UConn chances are he will likely be developed into an NBA player. If he goes to providence chances are he will be really good at painting ceilings. Maybe Chukwu wants to paint ceilings for a living. There is nothing wrong that.

I have trashed one kid by speaking the truth just one

I'm sorry, are you simple or just drunk? I just posted to you that I was ONLY talking about Drummond in regqards to development (as matter of fact I have stated or implied it multiple times}. You have now pointed out the same wrong thing 3 times. I can only assume you are slow.

I never trashed Drummond, My point was he would have been a top pick without his one year at UConn, how is that trashing him? He is and will be a great player. I absolutely never trashed him or any other UConn player other than Thabeet. Actually I would be hard pressed to trash any other UConn player who got drafted. I honestly can't think of one who wasn't or didn't become a great player under Calhoun. Tate George is an absolute POS, but that is certainly not Calhoun's fault. The kid had all the same chances Kevin Ollie did.

i see what you're saying

Travis signed an 8 year, $22,000,000 deal with the celtics in 1997. That's 8 figures.

Yes, that's an 8 figure deal, but not an 8 figure per year deal as originally posted.

So your argument is that Thabeet is was and always will be a stiff? At the NBA level maybe, but he was a dominant big in college and not close to a stiff by his junior year. I'm not even sure stiff is the appropriate word for Thabeet at the NBA level. He is fairly athletic and mobile for his size, he's also not the greatest basketball player ever and has had some mental issues. He started as a very raw freshman and developed immensely because of JC and Blaney, but even they couldn't make up for 15 years of not playing the game. He is, was and always will be raw relative to other NBA players, a stiff conjurs someone far less athletic to my mind.

As for Chukwu, who knows where he will/would develop better. Thabeet should be his floor if he is developed properly, a more agile Hibbert his ceiling. Do you think PC gets him to his floor/ceiling, above/below if he goes there?

Drummond didnt devolop a ton at UConn but he did get better. His game was always more suited for the NBA though.
