"Other" games of note, Week 2 (Nov. 12-18)

That's what I mean. Everyone knew they'd be losing Morris and Morris and I just didn't see the overwhelming reinforcements waiting in the wings. Unless people think Patterson is gonna be all-SEC or something.

Media gets a little star blind. It's all about Howard.

I think Kentucky is very strong defensively but I don't think they have the offensive firepower to compete with top teams. They likely still finish in the top part of the conference though.

We will have to wait and see what Chasity Patterson does. She doesn't need to be all SEC but having some offensive production to turn to outside of Howard would be big for that group.

ASU transfer Sabrina Haines appears to be starting for Kentucky. She is very sound defensively and in their last game did score 17 points. While at ASU Haines distinguished herself both for the energy she invested on the defensive side of the ball as well as her willingness to take charge offensively. It will be interesting to see how she develops over the course of this what should be her senior season.

Arizona putting it on Texas. However, Joyner Holmes playing like the #2 player she was recruited to be, hitting 3s, pull-ups, steals, shes really really amazing when she tries

wow. That AZ Texas score really confused me when I checked all scores at the conclusion of the Uconn Temple game! I've not heard of the player for AZ going off for 22 in the first half, have I? What year is this kid?

She nearly led the country in scoring last year. Aari McDonald. Redshirt junior. First team all Pac 12 last year. She was a freshman at Washington when Plum was a senior, then followed Adia Barnes when she took the AZ job.

NFL Panthers getting blown out at home by the lowly Falcons..... Duke looking bad at home vs Northwestern..... and the liquor stores are closed on Sunday in North Carolina Head bangHead bang

Hold up.,,,the PK is closed on Sunday. Def can’t move there

Collier just hit a second 3 pointer in a row, and then Aston with the classic “let me call timeout to kill any momentum we just gained”

Not sure what a PK is..... all liquor here is sold in ABC stores. Havent been in one since 2004... but something tells me I may have to make a visit this WCBB season  Unless i learn how to ferment apples and pears.

On my way to the game, I was listening to the legendary Texas radio announcer Craig Way interview UT assistant Jamie Carey talk about how containing McDonald was their focus coming into the game.

Well, McDonald exited the game with about 7 or 8 minutes to play having scored 44 points.

Hats off the Nell and Georgia Tech for a 73-40 win over Georgia in Athens. First time Georgia Tech beat Georgia in Athens.

Nell proving to be a really good hire, between some early success despite losing the two freshmen and a terrific 2020 class.

They did a good job of containing McDonald's teammates at least.

Statistical oddity, Arizona only had 7 assists on 27 made FG. Not what you'd expect in a blowout win, although that's probably because McDonald was doing most of the scoring.

Aston just said in the postgame courtside interview that they were focusing on keeping her out of the lane, which they actually achieved in the 1st half because She did almost all her damage on midrange jumpers. Then that opened up the lane a bit for her in the 2nd half for her bread and butter drives to the rim.

It’s gonna be a long season in Austin. Can they even make the NCAA tournament? At this point I’m not even sure.

If they don't surely Aston's seat will be getting warm. 1-2 start for them, Big 12 schedule can't get her soon enough.

Every Rice player who has seen the floor has at least one turnover. But A&M is only up 2 in the third as Ogumwike and Schwartz hit 3s.

Georgia may be looking for a HC very soon
I think you've gotta give her one more year just because of how good the 2021 class is in Georgia, with Johnson, Feagin, Hollingshead, McPherson, etc., but depending on how that goes, it would be time for her to go IMO. She had a very underwhelming 2020 class, missing on practically everyone.
