I said Ollie was in way over his head and needed to he fired, also said Dan Hurley was going to be our next coach. What was I thinking? The horror!!!

Cox is overrated by the yard just like Chillious and Killings were. Every assistant somewhere else is supposedly a great recruiter not taking into account who the head coach of that program is or what school they actually recruit for. I was the only one who called it like I saw it. No assistant is some can't miss hire, we hired the right head coach and that is what matters. I'll take Jermaine Harris over Cox without question if it came down to those 2.

However, people need to be patient with a head coach just hired. The fact that URI is waiting this long and conducting interviews is a good sign that the Rhode Island doesn't really want to give Cox the job if they can help it. They've seen how that works out for other programs.

Are you saying the Yard overrates people we know very little about? I am shocked by this accusation.

You make some good points but the truth is nobody has any real idea about Cox's coaching ability. The important point is Hurley feels comfortable with him and if he joins Hurley's staff and brings Harris with him all the better.

Funny you watch a video for 1 minute and come up with a negative on kid? Oh excuse me I do LOL...he's a big kid finally and plays around the hoop, not skin and bones and that's huge. But I have to say 2 passes he knocked down instead of catching the ball, sign of hands not being great or just not ready for the passes? Anyway would take him in a heartbeat with Cox.

I like to hear the posts above, but it sounds like they weren't all in for Coach Hurley. Still looking forward to them in UConn jerseys once Cox is hired though.

URI fans have been consoling themselves by pointing to their recruiting class. If Cox doesn't get the job and they all decommit they are going to be crushed
 
They aren't in that different of a position than we were a month ago. Are you going to cut off your nose to spite your face? If they don't think Cox is the right choice to be the head man then they have to deal with the loss of the recruiting class. Hiring Cox to save this class, without their AD thinking he's the best coach they could get long-term, would be as dumb as us keeping KO to save our three recruits.

This is a good one... let's say Cox is not the choice at URI. Many think he'll be an HC somewhere else the following year. So, he, and Tate come to UConn this year...and Cox lands a HC gig at some 'lower' school...does Tate keep his word and follow him? Or, is that just a 'this year' threat?
