OT: Tom Brady GOAT

He cheated. It was proven. The 2nd circuit even backed it up as well as the right to get his cheating ass punished.

There’s nothing I would say too bad that could happen to him.
Nope. It wasn't proven. It was determined by the NFL without independent investigation or deliberation.

I’m a Giants fan and think that the Pats records until 2007 should have asterisks next to them. Spygate was not an isolated incident or two - it was a system of cheating that culminated in them having detailed binders on every DC and basically knowing the exact defense that was going to be run against them. The fact that the NFL destroyed the evidence rather than have it see the light of day tells you how bad it was.

Even with my harsh take on Spygate, the decade since is impossible to ignore - Brady is the GOAT and I’m not sure how anyone can argue otherwise. And Deflategate was bs.

Uh, yes it was.

They hired outside counsel. Aka independent investigation.

Unless you don’t think that teams should hire experts to do that and let unqualified people do them.

Aaron Rodgers is the only quarterback that I think could be swapped to the Patriots and you wouldn't notice a difference. I can't say that about any other guy playing right now, and I can't say it about many others that I have seen in my life. Yes the Patriots run their franchise better than anyone else in the league, but that shouldn't minimize what Brady does every time he takes the field. Do I think the guy would be as great, or viewed as such if he played somewhere else? No, but he doesn't play anywhere else, so it's all speculation anyway.

Certainly helps your stats having played 100+ games against the shittiest division in the NFL the last 15+ years.

Take your 6 free wins, walk into playoffs with home field and a bye, and proceed to beat colts/steelers/jets in championship. Rinse and repeat every year.

Win 3 close ones on the leg of the most clutch kicker ever, lose 2x to the Giants, get absolutely gifted 2 by some of the worst coaching calls ever.

Peyton on that team would have put up the same/better.
I don't watch enough football to evaluate your claims, but I liked both games against the Giants.

God it's crazy how better we are than all of you.

This is awesome

I don't understand why Pat's fans feel the need to defend their team. Some things can stand on their own without saying a thing. Only team to go to ten Super Bowls. Brady/Belichick's eighth Super Bowl.........

There are people on this board pretending the Patriots play in a tough division.

I watched very little NFL this season, was flipping back and forth between today's game and Nic Cage's Snake Eyes. I did catch the entire fourth quarter though, pretty sure the Patriots are still holding.

Should have stuck with Detective Ricky Santoro.
Love how bitter all the Boston sports haters are in these threads. Your tears taste great every time.

One of the most interesting thought experiments in the Brady-Manning discussion is to switch their coaches and imagine what the results would have been?.

How many SBs does Peyton win with Belichick as his coach? 7? 8?
How many SBs does Brady win with Jim Mora, Tony Dungy, Jim Caldwell, John Fox, and Gary Kubiak? Maybe 1?
I’ll take the quarterback whose proven he won’t choke in big games for 500, Alex.

Funny you mention the Sox. They got caught and the fans acted like adults. Took the well deserved punishment in stride.

Now compare that to the plug your ears and yell lalalalala pats fans....
Get a life dude. We hear you now get some rest.

The level of crazy coming from the Pats haters on this board is reaching unprecedented levels. I am a little concerned for the general public's welfare two weeks from today.

I know some of these replies are simple trolling, the remainder might deserve FBI attention.

Anyways, congrats to all whose teams are consistently in the race for best team outside of the AFC east.

The 2nd circuit court did not back up the claim of cheating but backed the commissioner's authority to suspend. It was argued more along the lines of a labor issue than what was or was not done to a football.

Name me all these other great AFC East teams the past 15 years. Name the good coaches, name me the good qb's.

Again, you're wrong.

Patriots have lost 11 games to the Jets in the Brady era.

Their record against the Jets is much worse than the record against the Steelers or Ravens.

SO... the whole premise here is that the Patriots are aided by playing the Jets.

Yet the record shows that they are worse against the Jets than your purportedly "tough" teams. Not to mention the easy 2 victories those teams have against the Browns.

you didn't even finish the reading the first sentence i wrote which said that it covered that as well.

But they also said the evidence against brady was "compelling" that he cheated. in a case when that wasn't really necessary to comment on for either side.

But with Garvey and Brown both have significant weight, Brady never really had much of a case.

Blame the players union for grabbing their ankles in the mid 2000s.

His conduct as it pertains to both the game of football and his personal life is impeccably flawless.

It’s not his fault he triggers hysteria in a bunch of unstable grown men.
It is fun poking at Pats fans when they show Brady win Giselle and their family when I say “where’s Tom’s REAL family??” as in the pregnant wife he left when he decided he wanted a rich supermodel over the mother of his child

I wouldn’t go as far as (redundantly) “impeccably flawless”

1. The videos did see the light of day. They were shown on Fox. Jay Glazer got them through his NFL contacts. We all saw them. Live on TV, Jimmy Johnson and Bill Cowher saw them and said, "That's exactly how we used to do it. Film the assistant, switch the camera to time and distance."
2. Videotaping was legal in those years. They sent a memo out in 2006 that you could only videotape the opposing sidelines from the overhead boxes. After this memo, the Patriots called the NFL and said the Jets were filming from the sidelines, and the NFL told them what the Jets did was legal.
3. The stolen signals only came from teams they had played and who hadn't changed signals in the interim. Which is funny because some teams who complained about Spygate (2003 Carolina) hadn't even played the Patriots!

That's irrelevant.

The Patriots lose more games to AFCE teams than to others %-wise. So they're not helped by it.

JETS, BILLS and DOLPHINS ill say it again JETS, BILLS, AND DOLPHINS. Keep on repeating to yourself JETS, BILLS, and DOLPHINS and you will start getting it.

What is your point? That the Patriots get BYEs because they pump up their records with crappy teams?

Isn't that your point?

If that is your point, then explain why the Patriots have WORSE records against these teams than against your tougher teams?

Even if these teams are horrible, the Patriots LOSE to these teams and don't help their record on the way to BYES.

What helps the Patriots record on their way to BYES is their wins over the so-called tough teams. Because the Patriots beat those teams at a greater rate than they beat the HORRIBLE teams.

Jeez.

I did say the Pats would win any division in the NFL didnt I just like the Uconn women would win any conference regular season our tournament in the country. Ill say it again Jets, Bills, and Dolphins.

When the Giants played the Pats in those superbowls the Pats own division I think hurt them, they weren't battle tested.

I think you are talking about the girlfriend he broke up with before finding out she was pregnant. That was Bridget Moynihan, a wealthy actress.
