Adam Scott! Great win and long overdue for my favorite golfer. Tiger didn't have it today and got outplayed, which I don't mind seeing anymore. All comes down to putts and he couldn't make any when needed. I don't want to hear anyone say he should've won it if that penalty stuff didn't happen because Scott and Cabrera were throwing darts all day long. They were on another level than Tiger

scott was one stroke better than tiger and cabrera shot the same score. they were not on 'another level'

Nobody is afraid of Tiger anymore, so I disagree. Woods is obviously more clutch than those two, or has proven to be. Adam is a better ball striker than Tiger and he has confidence in that long putter which makes for a great combo. You really think El Pato is afraid of Tiger, not a chance, same with Adam. I like Tiger, don't get me wrong, but his tough guy demeanor/stares and cocky struts don't phase those guys on tour

Oh, lord yes, they're scared of Tiger Woods.

Both of those guys are just one nudge away from sucking their balls into their abdomen. One glimpse of a red Nike shirt and Adam Scott's mind would zoom back to Royal Lantham. There are bravehearts out there, but Scott and El-whatever ain't one of them.

Very entertaining final to watch, though.

(Just FYI - it's 'faze', not 'phase'. I'm amazed by how many people make that mistake.)

Don't call me bro, and they were throwing darts all day long, especially under that type of pressure with a tight leaderboard. What were you watching? Maybe another level was a stretch, idk, but Tiger got outplayed. He didn't lose it/give it away.

I just don't like people acting like Tiger is bigger than the game of golf, he isn't. You think those guys got on tour being scared of people? Hell no.

Except he is. Those other guys should be rubbing tigers nuts in appreciation. TV viewership doubles when he's in the hunt and purses have increased exponentially because of him. It you don't think The PGA has cold chills running down their backs thinking about the day tiger retires and sends golf back into irrelevance your nuts.

Your mindset coming down the stretch of a major is dictated by your score (for those that don't worry about a few thousand more dollars or automatic qualifications for future tournaments and other tangential things to the tournament itself). Three or four strokes down, you throw caution to the wind and start letting er rip. If you are within one stroke of the lead, you don't feel that sense of urgency until the last hole. The mindset is usually to make sure you give yourself a chance and don't lose the tournament going for a risky shot. There's no way to know what would have happened with those two strokes back.

Sure he got outplayed, he lost but let me know all the big names who didn't have their games and were still a putt or 2 from creating nerves from the leaders?........."another level" is a joke though.........he putted crappy, hit it astray a few times and if he makes a couple putts to create the stir, shows up a stroke or 2 behind with 5 to go all of their swings change like it or not.........Fishy is correct about their balls/abdomen whether you care to admit it or not.........his arrogant demeanor is shared by many others out there - didn't see a lot of communication with Angel and his partner did you, or even Adam and his fellow Aussie Leishman? These guys are in a major, they smile when they make shots but they don't share stories out there like your local country club!!

Listen he's not God but he's damn close in the game of golf...........funny thing is those who dismiss him from majors - I guess his crappy play which led him to just 4 strokes off and still in it on Sunday must dismiss Phil (+9) and Rory (+2) from ever winning another major too then huh? Funny ........

Alright Mr KNOWALL - thanks for reading my mind - ever hear about a rhetorical open question to set a discussion?
Take the TW tinted glasses off, my son is a Tiger worshipper as well as a scratch golfer himself and his comment is that Tiger has done NOTHING but play golf his whole life so he should know the rules inside out up and down. He employs a professional caddy and pays him in part to know the rules inside and out up and down.
You can take your pretty sure and stuff it - I wasn't speaking in favor for someone named Chin Diesel or stating that I thought or feel an * would be appropriate.
I made a point and Chin Diesel happened to make a comment about my post

You seem a little unhinged, man.

My point was that you did not actually make a point. You tossed your little rhetorical cop out onto the floor and walked away. Say what you mean or don't bother.

I've never dismissed tiger from majors. He has a chnace every time, just like all the other guys. Do you guys play golf competitively or just for fun? I'm in my senior year of college golf and may pursue professionally and let me tell you, thinking about score is so wrong it's not even funny. They know what they have to do yea, but they are so mentally tough that they block it out and focus on one shot at a time, give me a break. Tiger is not bigger than the game. Sure, he took it to new heights, but so did Bobby Jones, Arnold, and Jack...

Congrats and hope you do well seriously........I play for fun, local 4 balls, 2 balls, match plays different level even though a single digit guy I get that.........but I watch and know PGA golf, don't need to play college golf to get what we see, read........Jones, Arnold, Jack? Hmmmmmm don't see many others in between or since Jack? These guys are the reason you play golf, I play golf, I watch golf........those names.....I think you just answered your won question on if he's bigger than golf because the guys you named were also!!
