OT: Song Thread - Guitars

Maybe cheating a litttle, but a dobro is a type of guitar, right? Jerry Douglas rocks! He's done some solo stuff, a whole bunch of session work, and has been a member of Alison Krauss' band Union Station for years.

Might as well go full on steel guitar. I don't think this guy is very well known but he's good.

For a movie scene this is pretty darn iconic. Really gets going around 2:30. Banjo outshines the guitar but nice pickin' on both instruments.

Some classic 80s stuff. These guys toned down the glam after their first album. Some tasty guitar work here.

I liked your post as I expected and hoped for the same. Do go back and see he included what we are seeing. :(
Yea, I was definitely NOT looking for songs ABOUT guitars.

Basically anything guitar. Having said that I will not admonish meyers7, but as a fan of both Les Paul and Chuck Berry, Chuck never played a Les Paul. He played a 335 and others of the 330 line which were hollow bodies. All Les Paul models are solid body guitars.

Good catch. They were Gibsons (ES-350T early in his career, later switching to ES-345s and ES-355s), not Les Paul Gibsons. My bad.

I either have missed or not see a video with Joe Bonamassa. In this light I will attach one that not only has Joe but with Eric Clapton....a two-fer!

Here is one featuring Mcguinn's jangely chimey Rickenbacker 370 a sound he made famous. Also included in this is Marty Stewart playing Clarence White's original B bender telecaster built by Gene Parsons. The B bender also produced an iconic sound like a steel guitar.
