I need a new pair of sneakers. Looking for something that is really comfortable and looks good. Lo or mid cut. Just general use, maybe 2x a week. Any recommendations under $100? Thanks.

Now I am torn. I will need to increase my budget to at least $600 to get all those great ones pictured here. I was devastated when I found out my size was out of stock on the pair that 3UConn listed.

I don't know why anyone asks advice on this board.

We wore New Balance shoes on our walk across the country. My wife was on her third pair after the 5,000 miles, she got roughly 2,000 miles out of a pair. Usually New Balance have several models of the same general type of shoe and at a shoe outlet store you're bound to find at least one for under $60. I would get an all-terrain model built for stability (models are also built for cushioning or one other attribute I can't recall at the moment). New Balance also has the distinction of once again being made in America.

Disclaimer: I got significantly less mileage. I have pronation that wears out the inside of heels much faster. I "only" got about 1,000 miles per pair.

On edit: Oops. You got me.

I have a strong feeling that Huskybass was joking around on a boring Friday night.

All the serious runners I know wear Asics.
But don't buy these:

I'm a fan of Nike but sometimes their shoes don't fit right if you have wide feet.

But I'm a fan of these:

I'm pretty sure you can interchange the red with any color.

Partly joking, I knew there would be some funny responses. But on a serious note, I do want to buy a really comfortable pair of sneakers.

If these aren't your first choice out of the gate, then there's something seriously wrong with you. Street cred galore.

These cardboard Pumas are good too. I'd actually wear these for the 15 minutes they'd hold up:

I switched to NB 20 years ago, and have been wearing them ever since. Great fit. Great cushioning. Wonder of toooo much cushion interferes with stability / balance?
