I just sat down here at the AMP. The energy is, let's say different, and I see a lot more police and security, LOL.

There are white t shirts on each seat with the Friar symbol saying a "Dunkin Mindset". Do I put in this on? A die hard UConn fanatic wearing a PC shirt, will wonders ever cease.

Lets hope they have a good tv audience.. Providence doesn’t draw well at all… last game Providence played 132,000 .. that’s like middle of the pack Atlantic 10 teams

And just thinking about Diaco still pisses me off. That's what's so entertaining about Friar fans. They are so wrapped up in themselves.
 
I see it as quitting your company and going to work for your biggest competitor. In my line of work if you do that because your current company treats employees bad and the other company treats employees well, no one has an issue with that, but if you do it just for more money everyone at the current company is going to hate you forever.
So.. if Cooley did it just for more money he is kind of jerk for going to a rival school. On the flip side if he was treated well by Providence execs, it’s totally justified and it’s hard to know what happened because no one is ever willing to share those details with the public.

All of that said, I expect Providence fans will brutally boo him every times he returns and he should have expected that when he made his choice.

Yeah, I'm about to leave to Morningside Heights, but I've got the game on record mostly to see the opening few minutes prior to tip. I fully expect Providence to blow out Georgetown, but the bookends of this game most interest me.

Was that a backhanded slap at of Providence as an interim stop?
 
I was on Hartford for the Georgetown game 2 weeks ago. The players from Georgetown players just got on the court and the boos were a lot louder. When Cooley shows up, oh boy!

Same. I absolutely respect their hate.

That said, Georgetown winning at Providence and Cooley doing the shhh! gesture at the crowd afterwards would be the icing on the cake.

I heard that too. It's a reasonable sentiment, but geez man, it's like he's intentionally trying to rub salt.
He could have said that 100 different ways. He could have said something other than Divine Providence. He is a smart man. He is not that obtuse.

Hard to win tourney games at Fairfield. I believe that if he was still the PC coach, and was still there for the foreseeable future, he could have had a tenure that included F4 runs. Would he have been consistent? Probably not. But PC likely would have been better off with him long-term. Now it’s just another restart.

I also think if Cooley had taking team to final four before he left there would be no hard feelings if he left, but he left Providence on the cusp of getting job done without actually doing it.

eg Hurley can do whatever he wants at this point and I will still respect him and like him. I wanted Ollie out as coach because he wasn’t doing well, but will always like him because he lead team to a championship.
