How could 148-2 only cover two years? I have to help you with math now?

We're actually 188-3 over our last 191. The most successful team in world sports. That's right. In all of world sports. Ridiculous people...

Uconn women not winning the national championship is like Bama not winning it all in football which equals a failure. When you are the greatest WBB program ever you need to deal with the criticism that comes with it when you lose thats the way it is.

OK that's great.

They SHOULD have won tonight's game. I'm not MAD at them because they did. I'm not un-renewing my tickets next year. I'll still be there the same i've been there the last 20 something years.

But lol dude.... they should have won tonight's game and it's not ludicrous to talk about it... not even a bit.

It shouldn't be considered a failure. Final Four is a Final Four. I just don't think people have an appreciation for how hard that is.

But they did a lot of dumb things tonight. And didn't play particularly well. And that's an entirely worthwhile conversation.

That would be the Yankees at least they won today lol.

Find me a team better than 188-3 in the world over the last however many years. In any sport. Anywhere. Go ahead.

Later, everyone...

I never liked Geno's body language the whole game.
The offense is awful. Just passed around the perimeter until the clock runs down and forces a bad shot.
Bad use of time outs.
Body language sucks. That whiny face is killing me.
Just sits back and let’s refs give the business.
Odd rotations.
Doesn’t take Calhoun’s advice.
We’re down 12 and won’t use timeout wisely.
Won’t pull players for poor shots or effort.
Seems to play his favorite players.
Uses the zone.

Seen this before.

I'm not even mad about it. UConn only gets better and having a good women's team only means more if you have rivals and actual competition.

And get this - they are. Everyone's asleep at the wheel and Mississippi State is raking recruits. Notre Dame has stuck around. Louisville is a step down (bigly) but they're clearly a VERY good next tier team. South Carolina will rebuild a bit, but they're getting there. Where Tennessee failed to keep their stuff up over time, we're maintaining and the rest of the world is figuring it out. This is good.

I'd rather go to an electric, competitive South Carolina game at Gampel. Or a Notre Dame game.

I was there for Tennessee. And I've been to a lot of sporting events. It was *electric*. Top five thing i've ever experienced. At at the KIND of sporting event I didn't expect to feel like that with. So, more of that? Sign me up. Catch up, world.
Me too, from my time living in CT. and the posters on the women's board I get the sense they don't want the same things you want. I could be wrong but my guess is when the blowouts are less frequent and they start losing some games many of those fans will stop caring like they used to.

So your saying they are the greatest of all time but its not a failure when they dont win it all? You can't have it both ways.

Dude, add something of value. Why you think they lost tonight? Why they lost in one of the biggest upsets in sports history the same time last year?

One huge factor was Megan Walker not playing maybe it had to do with her who knows but you dont get the number 1 recruit to sit on the bench as a freshmen no one was saying she had to be an AA as a FR but maybe 6-10 ppg off the bench wouldn't have hurt.

They had the talent to win on the floor tonight. We were up 9 at one point.

That being said - man - i'd love for us to find a big woman in the front court. Especially last year - you get one monstrosity in the middle and our lanky forwards struggle.

Oh I know.

This is a spectacularly talented group of girls, and I feel like a huge piece of crap criticizing a group that went undefeated and rode to a Final Four. But if we want actual, real, legitimate 'break the glass ceiling' things in women's sports - to me the best sign of that is giving a women's sports team a heap of criticism. This was bad tonight. No getting around it.

Notre Dame came to play, but they were up 9. In cruise control. And then just like they did last year - had this tendency to lose wherever the gas pedal was. It's weird because people don't see it in the 30 point blow outs... but they got outscored by good teams for entire halves in early blow outs. There were times where they'd just take the fists down. And you see it in those games and you hear Geno talking about it in pressers and you don't pay heed.

And then you see these games. And you see why its so costly.

Look - again - immensely talented group. Just absolute choke jobs that lots of players on this team didn't fully absorb that should be absorbed. Need to find some nails next year, because this group just lacks a real edge.

And the problem is they graduate their toughest kid in Nurse.

I'm not sure how you can say UConn choked when they came back from down five in the final 40 seconds on two separate occasions. If anything, Notre Dame nearly choked it away - from the little I saw they appeared to be the better team. UConn was sort of plodding on defense and couldn't contain dribble penetration.

A great game, though. I don't really know how good of an in game coach Geno is because I haven't watched him enough, but if he isn't, then it kind of proves my point that it isn't that important. Loved #24 from Notre Dame's game, the game winner she hit was filthy. I don't want to alleviate UConn from all criticism, but when it's that tight of a game it's basically a coin flip. Not sure what to make of the Geno overtime stat, could be a fluke, might not be.

For sure they definitely should have won anyways. I just dont get Geno's short rotation yeah you gotta stay with it late in the year. Why not use Batouley to pick up fouls and hack ND, or use Walker to take some pressure off the starters. The biggest one was not using Stevens to start the 2nd half and OT as well.

Also not really wrong.

But when your opponent serves it up to you after you blew a 9 point lead....

More things that aren't wrong.

It's just weird how this team will go at A'Ja Wilson like a heat seeking missile and then they see the Center from MSU last year and ND's front court this year and lock up. It's a little bizarre. I'd agree - not a bad idea to lob some size to at least open the lanes a bit more.

What's the deal with Katie Lou? I've seen her in games where she drains everything and others where she is face guarded and can't get her shot off. It's one thing shooting bricks but she looks terrified sometimes I've seen her. Incredibly shaky with here passes and handle. Does it all go when someone gets physical with here and gets in her head?

For me, the pinnacle of the women's game was DT and the TN years. That was an incredible amount of fun. Some of the best basketball games I've been to were in that stretch.

I'm not excusing it off on this, but the further the year progresses, the more i wonder how physically healthy she is. Kid has chronic ankle issues. Not saying it was the reason, just curious what the impact was.

Yes. Too much touch. She may think she doesn’t care about mixing it up underneath or around the rim or paint if she ever wanders that way, but outside if someone has a hand on her it really shakes her up inside and it doesn’t seem to matter how big the defender is. I thought KML could shoot it but when Katie Lou gets hot she is pretty impressive.
