Again, enjoy your victory. Good luck next week. I've got absolutely no complaints.
The schadenfreude in this thread slays me, especially in the face of the not-so-subtle amount of hypocrisy that goes along with it.

Are the Giants playing next week?

Love your post, except the bashing of NYC. We're lucky to live between two of the greatest cities in the world, and two of the most passionate fan bases in the states

I love both cities

I don't begrudge anyone who loves NYC. I just hate the place. I have since my first visit as a kid. Hate the high rises going up in Boston and changing its character as well.

Boston isn't one of the greatest cities in the world. That's the provincialism talking.

The shelves are bare up in Foxboro when it comes to assistant coaches. In the last 10 months, the Patriots have lost the following: WR coach O’Shea, DC Brian Flores, DL coach Brendan Daly, CB coach Josh Boyer, QB coach Jerry Schuplinski, ST coach Judge, a few other assistant assistants, and soon perhaps OC Josh McDaniels. Also may lose the new DL coach Bret Bielema.

Would not surprise me if OL coach Dante Scarnecchia retired.

So we'd only have RB Coach Ivan Fears, LB Coach Jerod Mayo, DB Coach Steve Belichick left.

Wow--eye opener.

O’Shea just got fired by Miami. Could come back. My guess though is that Josh will move on and Bill will want to implement a different offense that is less complex and doesn‘t require quite as much pre and post snap adjustment from the receivers. It is too hard to find players that can execute that offense. It’s why Flores fired O’Shea.

I expect BB to run his defense and bring in new blood at OC.

You could be right, but I will only say that Belichick has been a coach on a team with this kind of offense since he got to the Giants in '79.

This is the same RayPerkins/RonErhardt/Ernie Zampese/Charlie Weis offense that has been around since forever, and Belichick -- who has a huge hand in the offense -- has been a coach with this offense his entire career.

So, if he does change offenses, he'll be an old dog learning new tricks.

If he's going to change offenses, then he better hope teams are squeamish about Tua's hip injury so he drops to their 23rd pick. You know Belichick would swing for the fences there.

Zampese is affiliated with Don Coyell not Erhardt-Perkins. Much more wide open passing attack.

I'm not sure the overall system needs to change. I don't believe it is inherently complicated or was with the Giants or Steelers. I think the wrinkles are 100% Tom Brady based. The defensive reads and adjustments being aligned with how Brady sees the field. You have to move on from that and allow more creativity and playmaking.

When Brady first became the QB, the Pats ran something much closer to a West Coast offense. Even since then, the traditional Erhardt-Perkins approach is run first with very few throws to RBs. Yet the Patriots are very much heavy on throwing to the backs. So I don't think they really run the Erhardt system at this time, even if they use that nomenclature. Maybe they will get back to it.

And yes, I think he'd take Tua if he falls that far. I am convinced he wants mobility at QB.

More Boston cheating....

Everyone knows the Red Sox have been cheating, Cora was the Stros bench coach. This won't stop until the leagues blast the hell out of the cheating franchises.

You get caught with roids and it's an automatic 80 game suspension, 2nd time and full season ban, third time and lifetime ban. Make the penalty for cheating the same or harsher.

There's only one the matters, the rest come and go year after year after year after year

I remember when the loss of Charlie Weiss was going to be devastating, especially to Brady

I'll let the five fans that still watch baseball worry about that.

Rob Parker is a Brady hater for whatever reason. He's a Crank Yanker puppet. He, like Max Kellerman (Also a CYP) said Brady was about to fall off a cliff...four years ago. Brady only led his team to three Super Bowls, winning two, and a League MVP, 3-5 years after what is considered a typical retirement point for an aging QB, let alone any other non-kicking superstar football player.

Whatever your point was, using Rob Parker does not strengthen it. Brady is not in his prime. Clearly, but at 42, Brady has not fallen off any cliff, is still a top 5 QB, and and probably will be next year as well at 43.

I find him entertaining, Kellerman not so much. People getting pissed at the Rob Parkers, Skip Bayless of the world are the reason they are making millions. I never said I agreed with Parker, all I did was post this video, no need to get all defensive and act like Brady is your son. Unikely Brady is a top 5 qb next year when he wasnt a top 10 qb this year, even though you can say he didnt have the weapons and all.

Patriots fan here - I’m not sure why so many folks assert that the Patriots got out coached. Patriots had a lot working against them and still did ok ...
- they win a lot, so draft picks are low, winning players demand pay increases, winning assistant coaches get picked over. I watched that game, I think I would’ve rather had Tennessee’s roster than the patriots.
- the clock running down was interesting, but not necessarily to either team’s benefit.
- Tennessee appeared to have a WAY more physical team, running at will. But still they only managed 14 offensive points. Seems Vrabel could have done more there. Give BB that offensive line with Henry and things might have worked out.

I did hate the no punt returner at the end.

I think the Pats lacked some offensive firepower this year. It happens - and so we Pats fans had to “suffer” through a 12-4 season with a close playoff loss. But losing a close game, with a depleted roster to a good team ...not sure I’d categorize it as being out coached.
