Not that Cinci's the best nor worst place to live, but what makes Las Vegas 50x greater as a place to live? Gambling? If, you gamble a lot. Tacky or trashy people, specifically way too many local residents? Entertainment? OK, but how many local people regularly go to the casinos for shows, concerts, etc.? Weather? If desert living floats someone's boat, perhaps. Destination city to live? Guess so for some people, and beauty's in the eyes of the beholder. Or, potential $ or a possible escape from Cincinnati for Cronin?
I live here. Have for 6 months so far for a temporary job. If I were to get a lateral job in Cincinnati, I'd break my lease and take it in a heartbeat. Vegas is a massive suburb, filled with poorly educated and slow people, that is cringe-inducingly shameless in its trashiness (its official slogan is "what happens here stays here"), has absolutely no culture, and survives/is built upon commercialized mystique. It really is a disgrace of a town.

The only reason I'd consider living here for more than a year would be for what my high school buddy did; college at UNLV, join a frat, and host the Arizona and SoCal sororities when they visit. But now I wonder what his diploma is doing for him lol

The only genuine positive about Vegas IMO is its relatively central locations for so many awesome parks/forests within a 6 hour drive. It (and Nevada as a whole) is abysmal in nearly every metric. But the cost of living is low and there is no state income tax.

Vegas. Great place to visit. place to live.

It feels weird saying I'd rather live in Cincinnati, but I totally would.

Vegas is a hole, Hendersen no better.. Lots of brothels though, ask Odem

I would and personally think he's a great coach. He recruits a bunch of 3 star players and juco's and makes the tourney almost every year. That's the ceiling for Cincinnati in my opinion.
We were preseason #1 in 1996 and in 2000. We've spent the 7th most time at #1 in the AP Poll in the country. Sorry but what you suggested is not our ceiling.

.-.
Bronco Mendenhall leaves BYU for P5 job.
Boneyard: That must mean BYU isn't going to a P5.

Mick Cronin (potentially) leaves Cincy for a NON-P5 job.

It's all over TMZ. Mick Cronin is a coked-up, skirt-chasing party animal After Dark

I never put a ceiling on you guys or Cronin just suggested you have been snake bitten by unfortunate losses. If you think another coach is going to come into Cincinnati and recruit and coach better I'll believe it when I see it. I think Mick is doing just fine and you will miss him when you become like Memphis when he leaves.

If you want the tax advantages, go live in the Reno area.
I concur. I love living in Reno. 25 minutes from Truckee, 35 minutes from Lake Tahoe, awesome weather, no state tax, affordable housing, tons of outdoor recreation, can't beat it.

In reading their board, seems like a good amount of posters want him gone. Interesting.

So much for you getting Boneyard advice!!!!

If we suffered their fate in the AAC and then NCAA tournament a good amount of the posters here would want Ollie gone and he won us a ring two years ago.

Sizable amount of our fan base never got behind him and probably never will. I would go into detail but I wouldn't even rehash that debate with my worst enemy.
Did they want to keep Andy Kennedy? Is it that far back?

UNLV does have a feeder program. If they could find a competent coach they would be a high profile program almost instantly.

I think Cronin is a pretty good coach but it's staring to feel like Sendek at NC State.

That's an apt comparison, I think.

So if Jamie Dixon is talking to TCU, that means the B12 is about to hit the jackpot, right?

Yeah but the MWC will always be a one bid league, SD st. just had a great season and got snubbed when they lost in the conference tourney.
They had 3 literally last year, and 2 the year before (one of which was a 4 seed), and 5 the year before that.

SDSU didn't make it this year because they didn't beat anyone out of conference.

Cincy is a dump with bad sports teams.
I grew up in CT and have lived in Cincy for 20 years. If you think Cincy is a dump you obviously never spent any time here. The schools are better and housing is much cheaper. I'm hard pressed to give Ct an advantage over SW Ohio except for skiing, the sound and Italian food.

don't forget the college basketball teams!

No, they had one last year-Wyoming and one the year before SD st.
