... 50x better place to live
Not that Cinci's the best nor worst place to live, but what makes Las Vegas 50x greater as a place to live? Gambling? If, you gamble a lot. Tacky or trashy people, specifically way too many local residents? Entertainment? OK, but how many local people regularly go to the casinos for shows, concerts, etc.? Weather? If desert living floats someone's boat, perhaps. Destination city to live? Guess so for some people, and beauty's in the eyes of the beholder. Or, potential $ or a possible escape from Cincinnati for Cronin?

He just got a raise and is paid $2.2 million making him a top 20 paid coach in the country. I'm tired of this game. He doesn't deserve a raise. Point blank.

If he leaves he leaves. I will enjoy my time in Hell regardless.

I wonder if Jacobson or Underwood would bite on the Cincinnati job? I doubt it but that would be an upgrade. Just show the guy the door or maybe consider Davis who won a tournament game with the same team as this years team? Cronin runs bad offense in general.

Summerlin or even Henderson are nice. No state income tax, great events and entertainment.

50 might be low unless you want to hang in Kentucky for a night and meet some toothless plumpers.

I thought Larry Davis was a better coach anyways...

And maybe UConn has a different partner.

Conspiracy Kitty says:
Bingo. There is no way the Cronan walks away from a pretty cushy gig months before the announcement on Big 12 expansion unless he knows something. Cinci is a solid bball school with passable football that is proximate to WVU. Though helpful to WVU that doesn't do much for the rest of the Big 12. I suspect that a draft of the metrics report has been released and Cinci went from the #1 add to a much further down on the list. Mick sees the handwriting on the wall.

I live here. Have for 6 months so far for a temporary job. If I were to get a lateral job in Cincinnati, I'd break my lease and take it in a heartbeat. Vegas is a massive suburb, filled with poorly educated and slow people, that is cringe-inducingly shameless in its trashiness (its official slogan is "what happens here stays here"), has absolutely no culture, and survives/is built upon commercialized mystique. It really is a disgrace of a town.

The only reason I'd consider living here for more than a year would be for what my high school buddy did; college at UNLV, join a frat, and host the Arizona and SoCal sororities when they visit. But now I wonder what his diploma is doing for him lol

The only genuine positive about Vegas IMO is its relatively central locations for so many awesome parks/forests within a 6 hour drive. It (and Nevada as a whole) is abysmal in nearly every metric. But the cost of living is low and there is no state income tax.

Vegas. Great place to visit. place to live.

It feels weird saying I'd rather live in Cincinnati, but I totally would.

Vegas is a hole, Hendersen no better.. Lots of brothels though, ask Odem

I would and personally think he's a great coach. He recruits a bunch of 3 star players and juco's and makes the tourney almost every year. That's the ceiling for Cincinnati in my opinion.
We were preseason #1 in 1996 and in 2000. We've spent the 7th most time at #1 in the AP Poll in the country. Sorry but what you suggested is not our ceiling.

Bronco Mendenhall leaves BYU for P5 job.
Boneyard: That must mean BYU isn't going to a P5.

Mick Cronin (potentially) leaves Cincy for a NON-P5 job.

I never put a ceiling on you guys or Cronin just suggested you have been snake bitten by unfortunate losses. If you think another coach is going to come into Cincinnati and recruit and coach better I'll believe it when I see it. I think Mick is doing just fine and you will miss him when you become like Memphis when he leaves.

If you want the tax advantages, go live in the Reno area.
I concur. I love living in Reno. 25 minutes from Truckee, 35 minutes from Lake Tahoe, awesome weather, no state tax, affordable housing, tons of outdoor recreation, can't beat it.

In reading their board, seems like a good amount of posters want him gone. Interesting.

So much for you getting Boneyard advice!!!!

If we suffered their fate in the AAC and then NCAA tournament a good amount of the posters here would want Ollie gone and he won us a ring two years ago.

Sizable amount of our fan base never got behind him and probably never will. I would go into detail but I wouldn't even rehash that debate with my worst enemy.
Did they want to keep Andy Kennedy? Is it that far back?
