Cronin is a solid coach but he is far from being irreplaceable. Cincy's stance should be 'if he moves on, we will wish him luck and find a quality replacement'.
I can't see anything worse than the school president publicly stating the AD is doing everything he can. If Cronin does leave, how can that be interpreted any other way than UC couldn't keep an alumnus from leaving for UNLV (far from a top gig) even though they did everything they could to keep him.
