Played CT National in Putnam today. My second time there. The course is in great shape, but you don't want to be above the hole. Super slick down hill. For over 55s, the rate is $43 including a cart. All players get a $5 discount in the restaurant, which is a great deal since the sandwiches are quite large and average around $9 without the discount. With a drink or two and a hefty sandwich, you are in the $10 or so range.
If you've never tried it, it's worth it , although almost 1:45 from the New Haven area. Also, the first time I went, my GPS took me off 395 2 exits short of RT. 44, and on to a series dirt back roads where I was sure I saw a strange looking toothless kid playing the banjo in front of a house. The route actually works, but this time I opted to go up to Rt. 44. The course is about 5 minutes off of 44.
