Bad news: wife diagnosed with cancer day before Ville game. Surgery scheduled Feb 22.

Cancer found on polyp. Our hope is this is the full extent of her problem. It will most likely be two weeks post surgery to determine full extent. We'd be grateful for anyone wishing to send prayers or good wishes for a successful surgery and excellent prognosis.

The good news is there have been incredible advances in cancer treatment. As a cancer survivor myself, I am well aware of the fear and anxiety your wife and family are going through. Your wife will get through this. As JC Superstar said, the key is to stay positive.
For me, I made it a contest. If I couldn't make it to work it was a point for the cancer and if I did it was 1 point for me. Stubborness helps a lot.
The other thing about going through treatment is how wonderful the people are in that area of the medical profession. I was treated at Uconn and the people were outstanding and I've heard nothing but good things about the medical professionals from a half a dozen treatment centers. Your wife will be in good hands.

The folks at MSKCC are outstanding. My wife who has stage 4 lung cancer just had stereotactic readiosurgery on 2/14. Keep the faith.
