Like I said, Sidiki Johnson only counted for 2 points in the year he left Zona. So like I said, by my numbers, assuming the academics are above the level, PC goes 50-50 this year or maybe 49-50.

My question is if PC got a waiver for Johnson?

As for this year, you are assuming a number of things in regards to the end of the year.

That would be a huge violation of federal law. These things must be reported to police no matter what the victim wants. It's then the police's discretion as to what to do with the case. But the university is compelled by federal law to report, or it risks 7 figure federal fines.

Seeing as no one knows what happened, how can you say that these things must be reported? The only thing I know is that girl did not want the police to be involved. Seeing as the police have been involved twice in the last 10 years with PC hoops players involving female issues, I have a feeling the school knows what they have to do in these situations...

Caw, no clue on Johnson, but I would assume PC got dinged a point for him because he did not return to school.

One way to look at things is like this: each scholarship player MUST return for both the spring and fall semesters to earn 1 point for each. Each player must finish both the fall and spring semesters in good standing in order to earn 1 point for each. The requirements for what constitutes good standing are considerably lesser for players going pro or for returning players than they are for transfers.

A transfer with a sub 2.6 GPA would lose 1 point each semester for not finishing in good standing, and 1 point each semester for not returning. In practice, however, the NCAA has issued exemptions for transfers who don't return in the fall if they left school prior to the previous spring semester.

There's a Federal law that compels the school to report. It's called the Cleary Act. The school has absolutely no discretion in the matter. It must report to the authorities.

No clue what J was referring to, but I am fairly certain the next calculation will be in 2016 and 930 will be the required score for the years 2013, 2014. 2015, and 2016. I could be wrong, though. The NCAA isn't exactly the easiest organization to follow. Still, even if it 2015, I don't think we'll have an issue getting to 930.

You're telling UConn fans they aren't the easiest organization to deal with? LOL

BA's GPA is above 2.6. He committed no crime. His discretion would have garnered him no more than 6 games at 99% of D-1 schools.

Take it up with the other PC fan, not me. I didn't say that, he did.
