He left Florida because he was fed up with the constant recruiting cycles. He’s been quoted as aligning with the current landscape of recruiting which is similar to the NBA free agency. If he left college coaching because he thought recruiting was "terrible," I don't think he'd return just to go to PC, where he'd have to do some of it. At Kentucky, he could just delegate and have the brand do at least some of the work.
Either way, I don't see Donovan coming back to college coaching. There's no point for him personally/professionally, and as far as I know, the Bulls ownership absolutely loves him, and despite them being mediocre every year, they have no interest in moving on.
Having 2 Pitino's and 2 Hurley's in the Big East would be hilarious
BC has a new President and AD. I do think they are finally changing things. I'd agree that GT is certainly a better job...maybe Pitt and Cuse. But he's a New Jersey guy, I don't see him in Atlanta.0 chance anyone with any sense takes the BCU job. especially with pitt, GT, cuse, providence on the table...all far better landing spots.

Totally agree with youWhat has Bobby Hurley accomplished over the last 11 years that would make a power conference school hire him before he steps back a level and proves he can still win games? Why would Providence want him?
You aren't from Jersey I see. He’s been in AZ 11 years.
Maybe he’s no longer a “Jersey” guy.
I think he’s a mid major level coach now after a fairly mediocre run at ASU
Hawk you're spot on. I've been involved with BC since my daughter went there 20 yrs ago. The past President had little interest in sports but the newest one does so the alums are hopeful. You also have to remember that in Boston sports starts with hockey followed by baseball followed by football with basketball mixed in with curling 😂BC has a new President and AD. =/St. Anthony's might be a good landing spot.
Fairly mediocre is very kindHe’s been in AZ 11 years.

Would be a great fit at BC. Back to the ACC. Program has potential. Would be fun if they were good and played us.
Maybe. But I think his history, personality, the Hurley name plays better in the northeast than the west. I think he can be more successful in this region. I get what @businesslawyer is saying about a major conference team vs mid major, but he's still a big name and his results at ASU were much better than anything BC has managed over that period. He’s been in AZ 11 years.

Comparison to BC isn’t fair — I didn’t say Bobby Hurley presided over a dumpster fire. He just moved up to a power conference and failed to accomplish much of anything over a prolonged period of time. Would BC hire him? I guess. God knows who they can attract at this time. But if you’re a normal power conference school (and that includes the Big East in hoops) I can’t see you looking very hard at Hurley. He’ll need to rehab himself (if he cares to) as either a top assistant at a ranked school or taking over a A-Ten or American level job and succeeding.Maybe. Thankfully no.You aren't from Jersey I see.
"Hurley envy"Why would Providence want him?
To be fair, you're certainly not the only one.Wait, BC still has a basketball team?? I was unaware

Care to elaborate? Is it because you don’t think he’d be a good assistant or the dynamic with his brother?Just hoping we do not hire him as an assistant if a spot opens up.
