Ot- bobby hurley fired from zona st

I get the obvious connections to PC and everything else, but I just don't get why Donovan would want to leave the NBA for anyone except a team in the B1G, B12, or SEC where he has endless $$ at his disposal and will be able to rebuild, via the portal, in 4 minutes. Kentucky would give him a blank check and he'd be the returning savior there.

Back on the rails, I hope that the Hurleys work together to see if Diop wants to try the other bro as a coach. That dude is a lottery pick waiting to happen, and for all of you with a double big kink, this could be your moment.
He already turned down Kentucky once. He’s a devout Catholic and loves his alma mater. If he’s going back to coach college, it will only be at PC.

Wait. Are we talking about the same Billy Donovan who's the current head coach of the Chicago Bulls? The one that just signed a 4 year extension in July 2025 and hasn't been a college coach since 2015?

Oh yeah. I can totally seeing him leaving that job to go back to a dumpster fire program in a garbage heap city.

If he left college coaching because he thought recruiting was "terrible," I don't think he'd return just to go to PC, where he'd have to do some of it. At Kentucky, he could just delegate and have the brand do at least some of the work.

Either way, I don't see Donovan coming back to college coaching. There's no point for him personally/professionally, and as far as I know, the Bulls ownership absolutely loves him, and despite them being mediocre every year, they have no interest in moving on.

Would be a great fit at BC. Back to the ACC. Program has potential. Would be fun if they were good and played us.
0 chance anyone with any sense takes the BCU job. especially with pitt, GT, cuse, providence on the table...all far better landing spots.

He left Florida because he was fed up with the constant recruiting cycles. He’s been quoted as aligning with the current landscape of recruiting which is similar to the NBA free agency.

BC has a new President and AD. I do think they are finally changing things. I'd agree that GT is certainly a better job...maybe Pitt and Cuse. But he's a New Jersey guy, I don't see him in Atlanta.

He’s been in AZ 11 years.

Maybe he’s no longer a “Jersey” guy.

I think he’s a mid major level coach now after a fairly mediocre run at ASU

What has Bobby Hurley accomplished over the last 11 years that would make a power conference school hire him before he steps back a level and proves he can still win games? Why would Providence want him?
Totally agree with you
