Ot- bobby hurley fired from zona st

If he left college coaching because he thought recruiting was "terrible," I don't think he'd return just to go to PC, where he'd have to do some of it. At Kentucky, he could just delegate and have the brand do at least some of the work.

Either way, I don't see Donovan coming back to college coaching. There's no point for him personally/professionally, and as far as I know, the Bulls ownership absolutely loves him, and despite them being mediocre every year, they have no interest in moving on.
He left Florida because he was fed up with the constant recruiting cycles. He’s been quoted as aligning with the current landscape of recruiting which is similar to the NBA free agency.

0 chance anyone with any sense takes the BCU job. especially with pitt, GT, cuse, providence on the table...all far better landing spots.
BC has a new President and AD. I do think they are finally changing things. I'd agree that GT is certainly a better job...maybe Pitt and Cuse. But he's a New Jersey guy, I don't see him in Atlanta.

He’s been in AZ 11 years.

Maybe he’s no longer a “Jersey” guy.

I think he’s a mid major level coach now after a fairly mediocre run at ASU

What has Bobby Hurley accomplished over the last 11 years that would make a power conference school hire him before he steps back a level and proves he can still win games? Why would Providence want him?
Totally agree with you

Hawk you're spot on. I've been involved with BC since my daughter went there 20 yrs ago. The past President had little interest in sports but the newest one does so the alums are hopeful. You also have to remember that in Boston sports starts with hockey followed by baseball followed by football with basketball mixed in with curling 😂

I doubt Hodgson turns down Southern Canada, but if he does, maybe Bobby wants to try Onondaga County. A complete 180 from Tempe.

Fairly mediocre is very kind

Would be a great fit at BC. Back to the ACC. Program has potential. Would be fun if they were good and played us.

I think he actually wants to win a championship

imho, Bobby going to BC or Providence would be great for the Big East

Given conference alignments of the last few decades, I love that BC's (and Syracuse's for that matter) athletics are crap, so don't get that part twisted

... the above said, rooting for the death of a conference member/rival often comes back to haunt ... as a Duke grad too, I feel a good UNC makes a better Duke - but them folks down on Tobacco road want death to their rivals (well, they got it, and look at the ACC of recent) ... mic, drop

Maybe. But I think his history, personality, the Hurley name plays better in the northeast than the west. I think he can be more successful in this region. I get what @businesslawyer is saying about a major conference team vs mid major, but he's still a big name and his results at ASU were much better than anything BC has managed over that period.

Comparison to BC isn’t fair — I didn’t say Bobby Hurley presided over a dumpster fire. He just moved up to a power conference and failed to accomplish much of anything over a prolonged period of time. Would BC hire him? I guess. God knows who they can attract at this time. But if you’re a normal power conference school (and that includes the Big East in hoops) I can’t see you looking very hard at Hurley. He’ll need to rehab himself (if he cares to) as either a top assistant at a ranked school or taking over a A-Ten or American level job and succeeding.

Providence is not a terrible job. They stepped up decently on NIL this season, and have shown they are patient unless the coach is a complete embarrassment, like English.

Not a bad place for a coach to cruise into the sunset.

Syracuse? New Chancellor who is sports oriented, will be new AD, coach out, not BE, a better job not geographically) than BC(U)
The Hurley name still has resonance.
