Hartford baking company is really good, but overpriced for the simple BEC. I'd recommend trying it if price isn't a factor. Personally the Bacon Jam you're referring to I thought was revolting.I’m a big fan of Hartford Baking Eggwich: Local egg, breakfast potatoes, tomato jam, and cheddar on a brioche. In particular, the potatoe and tomato jam just make the sandwich. I could eat 3 if it wouldn’t break the bank.
Halls Market in West Hartford makes a great BEC for 6 dollars all day until they close, that's my go to when I don't feel like making it myself. I like their butchery as well, usually leave with something to make for dinner later.
But @Fishy and @superjohn are right, the best one is the version you make at home. You can have any bread you want, american or cheddar cheese should be a household staple, Eggs are cheap per serving, so get yourself a decent bacon(which also comes in different sizes and "flavors" so try and change things up).
