I’m a big fan of Hartford Baking Eggwich: Local egg, breakfast potatoes, tomato jam, and cheddar on a brioche. In particular, the potatoe and tomato jam just make the sandwich. I could eat 3 if it wouldn’t break the bank.
Hartford baking company is really good, but overpriced for the simple BEC. I'd recommend trying it if price isn't a factor. Personally the Bacon Jam you're referring to I thought was revolting.

Halls Market in West Hartford makes a great BEC for 6 dollars all day until they close, that's my go to when I don't feel like making it myself. I like their butchery as well, usually leave with something to make for dinner later.

But @Fishy and @superjohn are right, the best one is the version you make at home. You can have any bread you want, american or cheddar cheese should be a household staple, Eggs are cheap per serving, so get yourself a decent bacon(which also comes in different sizes and "flavors" so try and change things up).

Slight hijack, but

The best SAUSAGE egg and cheese is at Laguardia Airport - seriously.

Shake Shack does it - patty-sized sausage, egg and cheese on a potato bun

It's outrageous.

Fried runny eggs are much better than bodega crepe styled eggs imo
Fried runny eggs or fluffy eggs cooked polenta style are equally good IMO.

It's better making a bacon, egg, and cheese at home because too many places ruin the eggs by doing them crepe style or they cook them over medium to over well and you don't really get the runny yoke to sop up.

Yeah it's really bad. I will say I do think sushi is getting better around here. There's this little spot in Brookfield called Amai sushi and it's incredible. I'll take good sushi over good Chinese any day
I mean pretty different cuisines.

If you are making it at home this bacon, and it ain’t cheap at Whole Foods (I hate this place it’s too expensive in general) is very good.
