This year, the Belmont is the first leg of the Triple Crown and unfortunately the field is weak.

Can any horse stop Tiz the Law? He's a fantastic horse
 
Forgettable bunch behind him - perhaps Modernist or Sole Volante could upset, but it’d be a surprise.

Royal Ascot is happening now - NBC Sports channel.
 
The track has been playing to front runners and Tap It to Win just ran a fast as heck mile and 1/16. I think he's the upset pick on the front end. Pneumatic could step up, sitting just off the pace.

The Belmont race will be run at a shorter distance and it's worth noting

I don't think they are, it's not on the website. I feel bad for the guy at Shea's. Belmont is his 2nd biggest day he told me.

Not sure, but you can place bets online through the Winners website. I've placed bets online in the past, not hard to set up and transfer funds.

Fandual is another option depending on what state you live in. CT allows for online ganmbling
 
There are a ton of places you can sign up and bet the horses. NYRA Bets has a decent sign-up bonus now. I use Twin Spires the most because I like the free past performances they give you. Only takes a few minutes and you're betting. They don't wait for the payment to clear.

I use TVG to bet. If you want to bet on big races, check each app because I think all apps don't take wagers on triple crown events. Not sure why but I thibk I saw this once someplace.

I broke even. In for $30, out for $30. I had Dr. Post to win/place and few small trifectas and exactas. Irad was the best jockey in that race by far, and I think if the race was its normal distance, he could have closed.

Manny Franco is my Saratoga guy. He’s the one jockey I feel like I can just sense when he’s going to push a 8-1, 10-1 horse to a win. Glad to see him get the win.

The race with no fans going crazy in the stands was lame. So was the distance at 1.125 miles. So, IMO, if the last race is not 1.5 miles, then there is no legitimate Triple Crown series (or winner if there happens to be one) this year.

It won't be traditional, but if Tiz The Law wins the next two legs I would consider that a legitimate Triple Crown.

You can't take anything away from Tiz. Because of the distance, I would be fine with an asteric, but I agree that he also is a legit triple crown winner

Just the recovery time between races makes this a huge asteric year. The next race is 3 months from now. Not in anyway a legitimate triple crown.
