This could become a rough and tumble league if Houston and SMU start snagging people. With UConn, Cincy, Temple and Memphis, it could get interesting quickly.
The deal with SMU is transitioning from brown. Theres no doubt the guy can recruit and coach. But is he building a foundation for the next coach?

Larry brown stinks. Ask carmelo and lebron about Athens

Larry Brown has never cared about how or when he left a school/franchise.

no way he goes to SMU, the mods can change my name to whatever they want for a month if he does, that said imagine if he did choose smu. that'd be crazy!
Guess who is changing their name to Dirk McSweatydong?!

...and DWade, 3 of the better talents on the USA team and he limits their minutes because they were too young, smh.

O.K. should the Boneyard have a contest for his new name? Fishy or Deepster can be the judge and then implement the change.

If EM commits to SMU I wouldn't be surprised to see Myles Turner open his recruitment back up to SMU. Stranger things have happened. EM has been a Kentucky priority for a while. Love to see him bail on the Kentucky offer. That would be sweet.

Mudiay said he plans to recruit other players to SMU.

"I really want to play with good big man; I know [ESPN 100 centers] Elbert Robinson and Myles Turner well. I know Myles does not have SMU on his list but maybe that can change now," Mudiay said.

Agree. But when SMU hired him, they only did it for instant credibility. I would hope the school knowing this would have put in place a transition plan. Whether announced or not, they should already have a successor in mind.

I wonder what they are telling recruits. Calhouns last two years were focused on if he was retiring, when, who would replace him etc... Can't be long for brown and SMU to have the same questions.

The ass't coach left his HC job at Illinois St. knowing he was SMU's next coach. It's stipulated in his contract.

How the heck to you keep up with all these esoteric facts? And I originally intended to use the word that rhymes with pluck instead of heck!

By reading it in the article on Mudiay on CBS that announced his verbal!

Pretty nice to tell the recruits they're going to get to play against UCONN twice a year if your the other AAC schools.........;)..........sounds like a line someone we know used when he went all over the country recruiting vs his BE opponents huh?

At the end of the day, the AAC will have 8 or 9 of the top 100, including players from top to bottom.

At least.

#5 Mudiay - SMU
#17 Hamilton - UCONN
#71 McGee - Memphis
#96 Tejada - ECU

Doesn't include Purvis.

Quadri Moore 84? Is a question mark still but looks likely to Cincy

I agree with Geno. The AAC will get better ( at least in college bb ) because we're in it. Not the only factor but an important one.
Hey Dream, my dream is that the AAC gets strong enough to routinely scrub the floor with many ACC teams.

Central Florida lands local kid Alex Owens (ESPN, No. 44) -- terrific big man in Class of 2015. Told ESPN he committed earlier today.
TheRecruitScoop
2014 Oak Ridge (FL) PF Alex Owens has verbally committed to UCF, according to @GoodmanESPN.
TheRecruitScoop
Big addition for Central Florida's Donnie Jones, who beat out NC State, Florida, Providence, Maryland & others for 2015 4-star PF Alex Owens
