I know most people don't even care about the other teams in the AAC, but hopefully the new league will start pulling in some good recruits. Emmanuel Mudiay is deciding tomorrow, and the favorite is Kentucky, but the dark horse is SMU. Check this tweet:

Put it this way: Mudiay was supposed to go to UK in Oct. Has been to SMU @ least 5 times. UK recently offered another Ulis. Adding things up

Would be pretty good for the league going forward if Mudiay chose SMU.

EDIT: Another tweet out there:

Got text from a coach this AM saying, "Change your Crystal ball pick for Mudiay to SMU" -- got the feeling he meant soon. This soon? Wow.

SMU and Houston IMO are sleeping giants. SMU has money and its in the Big D. Houston has a large enrollment and hmoetown talent.

SMU also got a five star in Keith Frazier last year.

Texas recruits love Ulric Maligi....At the time Brown hired Maligi he thought his poker hand consisted of an Ace, King, Queen, Jack and 10, all of the same suit when going after Texas kids. This years SMU team is already stacked. Everyone talks Frazier but Sterling Brown scored 25 points against Simeon & Jabari Parker in a state championship game going 10-18 shooting. Parker had 15.

i hope they represent the conference well, until we're gone. if we beat them, hopefully it helps the rpi.

If EM commits to SMU I wouldn't be surprised to see Myles Turner open his recruitment back up to SMU. Stranger things have happened. EM has been a Kentucky priority for a while. Love to see him bail on the Kentucky offer. That would be sweet.

seeing any 5 star say no to Kentucky would be sweet, he should do what LJ peak did to SC. the Kentucky fan base would explode.

This could become a rough and tumble league if Houston and SMU start snagging people. With UConn, Cincy, Temple and Memphis, it could get interesting quickly.

He should be called HuskyFanDana!
It's fantastic this kid is going to SMU. It makes UCONN v. SMU a really attractive national TV game next year. That team will have real talent.

Is there something out there that says that's his choice?

I haven't seen anything, but he's taken 0 official visits. He had 1 scheduled, which is
Kentucky in Oct. He's taken 5 visits to SMU and has all of a sudden decided to commit tomorrow night. I doubt his visits to SMU convinced him to commit to Kentucky without a visit. Plus SMU is in Dallas, and he is from Dallas. And SMU already has major talent. They should be really good with him, so he can get great exposure.

They do have a good coach, much better than Squid. Also as good as any coach that left the BE. Don't know why people think that SMU doesn't have a shot especially when kids know they have a shot at playing UConn.

Pair Mudiay with 2013 McDonald's All-American Keith Frazier, heralded junior college big man Yanick Moreira and a wealth of depth, and SMU would have a chance to begin the 2014-15 season in the preseason top 20. Not bad for a program that hasn't made the NCAA tournament since 1993 and barely mattered nationally prior to the controversial hiring of Brown.

The man coached Iverson in the NBA, danny manning in college, and both to titles...of course SMU is an option....its not always about the school...that is why it was really important for ollie to have a good showing last year because once people lose confidence in a coach, who cares about the school, its all about the coach
