I think there is still a bunch of duckpin bowling in CT. I just live out of state and have fond memories of it, only a few states have duckpin.

Mau and others, where was Oscars in RH? I've worked in town for over 12 years and have only heard of it through here. Was it in the strip mall below Century Hills or...?

Across the street in the small strip mall the houses Pattycakes. It was all the way on the left side of the building. Serious cougar range.

Forgot all about duckpins. We used to have an alley under the State Theatre in the Springdale section of Stamford.

It was a block down from Bongo's, a very small department store that had everything from clothes to tires. We used to steal baseball cards from there as kids. Even shoplifted two hockey sticks. Never did understand how they didn't notice. Then again, we also lifted a few 2x4's from the Hatch & Bailey lumber yard across the street, which we used to build hockey nets. Walked right down the street with 'em.

Oh ok... That's a bad italian restaurant now along with a Papa Johns, Pattycakes, and an out of business dry-cleaner there now... How long ago did Oscar's close? Since I've been in RH, that spot has been a series of really mediocre restaurant/bars.

Now THERE is a fellow Litchfield Hills local!!!

Been to both, Casino with my Dad when I was just a kid, and Beverly's in High School. Good times.

If you're talking about Lake Waramaug, I'd add Richie's Pizza. The Best.

And in that general area, The Shepaug Club, since renovated, completely renovated, and then torn down to avoid the property taxes. Doh!

My mom moved to Deer Island on Bantam Lake when I was in the Navy. While attending the Torrington Branch I lived there for a couple of years. It was awesome. Party all night and stumble up the causeway when they closed.

Rocky Neck Beach in the 70's-80's for 4-5 hours and then getting ripped at the Lyme Tavern and then Harbor Park. 1 for 2 isn't bad on weekends!
