2026 Recruiting: Olivia Vukosa

Olivia should hit the ground running when she gets to UConn. She is already very sound fundamentally, a rarity with a "big" recruit coming out of high school. She keeps the ball high, has very good footwork, finishes with both hands, passes well, appears to run the court very well, and can shoot from the outside.

Complete package!

Offensively, she's extremely advanced for a post player of any age........I've been less impressed with her interior defense........I'm not sure if her coach has told her not to aggressively go after players to keep her out of foul trouble, but I've seen her play a lot of "matador" defense on players driving down the lane...........that certainly won't fly with Geno.....

Congratulations to Olivia on her selection for the 2026 McDonald's All-American game. I did a little exercise to find out which of the three different media outlets ranking players in the class of 2026 had done the best job. For ESPN: the lowest-ranked player on their list, Cydnee Bryant, is ranked 33rd. The top 16 on their list were selected, as were 21 of their top 25. For Prospects Nation: the lowest-ranked player on their list, Emily McDonald, is ranked 38th. The top 18 on their list were selected, as were 22 of their top 25. For ASGR: it should be noted that they have already included two international players on their list who are not yet on the other two lists. These are Sara Okeke and Isi Etute, who came to finish their high school careers in the US this season, so I have excluded them. Shane Laflin (ESPN) mentioned in a recent article that both would be included among the 5-star players in their next update, and I assume Prospects Nation will do the same. So for ASGR: the lowest of the 24 players selected is not included in their ranking. Emily McDonald is the player missing from their list. It's a safe bet that with a surname like that, she couldn't be ignored. The top 13 on their list were selected, as were 21 of their top 25.
