Finally, it looks like Olivia Vukosa will be in Atlanta for the first two weeks of August. According to Overtime Select, she'll be part of the Double Dynasty team, wearing #7.

Olivia Vukosa's exceptional performances in both the Overtime Select league and FIBA U17 competition solidify her status as one of the most polished and dominant interior players in the class of 2026. Two years ago in the U16 category, Croatia finished in 3rd place. The European U18 Championship, currently taking place in Portugal, aims to determine 5 of the 6 European teams who will take part in the next World Championship 2025. The other European team taking part in the championship will be the Czech Republic, who will host the event.

Spain is the favorite to win, with two players from last year's U19 World Championship all-star teams, Awa Fam on the second team and Iyanna Martin Carrion who was chosen MVP, even though their team lost in the final to the USA. If there are no surprises, France and Spain should meet in the final.

Looks like we’re getting a Top 16 list from Olivia Vukosa tomorrow! I honestly would be surprised if UConn is not on this list.

For some reason I have in my mind that she has visited Texas and Oregon maybe?? Can’t find any trace of it anywhere though, so don’t trust what I say lol

I'm a bit discouraged by the Big O's lengthy list of schools.........it's always been my belief that she was a big UConn lean and that it was just a matter of time before she signed with Geno without having to go through the usual multi-school recruiting process.........regardless, I'm still hopeful that she'll make the right choice and become part of the UConn family in the end......

I mean, she's got a lot of time before her decision has to be made. Most recruits have a long list of schools they consider. Maybe she is a lean towards us, maybe she isn't. There are other schools that appeal to her, and she probably doesn't want to commit almost 2 years earlier than she has to.

Yeah I wonder if it’s just because she has such a long wait before she’s actually in college. Think about Sarah Strong, she didn’t want to close off any possibilities so she visited a lot of schools just to make sure UConn was the right one. Could be a similar situation with Olivia Vukosa. With such early interest in UConn, several unofficial visits already, and her being a UConn fan as a child, I would say that UConn still has to be a front runner.

The "time" doesn't change. She can't "sign" until November 2025. :p

True. Sarah is a recruit I would've used as an example as somebody who had a (secret) lean towards UCONN but visited a bunch of other schools before making the decision. Vukosa is weighing her options.

I'm glad to see Oregon did not make the final 16. Because my god, no offense to that program, but Graves has destroyed his recent players' careers. VanSlooten and PaoPao got out of there quick.

I just see it as her slowly trimming it down. I imagine this list will be cut in half in the coming months and will be lacked in on 4-5 schools when it comes to decision time fall of next year
 


Looks like Big O was at Ohio State this weekend. Hope to see her at First Night in a couple weeks!
 
The Big "O" is playing coy and keeping her options open.........I mean she's looking to play for a coach she can really talk to and for a real family atmosphere and her favorite player is Breanna Stewart...........what other choice is there? :rolleyes:
