#7 LSU loses to #20 Alabama
#8 UNC loses to #16 Duke
#3 ND loses to #24 FSU
#11 TN loses to # 15
#1 TX barely eeks out a win over unranked MSState.

Wow. That Bracket reveal won't last long.

Let's see how Cremepuff explains away the reasons why UConn STILL doesn't deserve a 1 seed. I can assure you that SC will be put right back on that #1 line, and the ND loss will be for any reason other than their lack of team play.
ND really has 4 bad losses this year or at least losses that were surprising based on the talent of their roster. The only way SC gets a 1 seed in the end if if they win the SEC or UCLA loses twice to USC. UConn has a great chance at a 1 and really could end the season right where they started, at the 2 position. Still a lot of basketball to play and potentially a lot of excuses from CC for the teams he favors.

ND loses to Fla St # 24 @ home by 5
Texas wins by 4 against Miss St unranked
LSU loses to Alabama #20 by 3
UNC loses to Duke #16 by 15
Tenn loses to Kentucky 20+

We will see what happens with this weekends games and how the rankings change on Monday.

I would think ND drops 2-3 places
Texas stays number 1
LSU drops 2-3 places from 7th to 8 or 9th
UNC drops a couple of place and Duke moves up a couple
Tenn drops 2-3 places and Kentucky moves up the same amount

Could UConn move up to number 4 or 3 we will see

Need to look beyond the numbers a bit. UConn pre and post healthy Azzi Fudd are different teams. This one is undefeated with her healthy, playing significant minutes, with the 1 auspicious win versus a top 5 team.

Hence, on these recent results, local and otherwise, with the resources available, and with the incoming #1 overall recruit having played most of her freshman season, UConn, for me, is the clear cut #1 overall seed. Nothing to do with local bias (I'm not coach's biggest fan when it comes to in-game adjustments, and rotations) the results with, and without, speak for themselves.

This crap again? Utsby had 11 turnovers in the first matchup. Chapel Hill wasn't winning the game on Senior Night regardless. Lemme log off before i say too much.
Thanks for saying this. Ustby is a good player but it’s not like they’re without an All American go to player. The same UNC team was able to beat NC State without Ustby in the lineup. Whether she played or not, Duke deserves full credit for their 15 point win over UNC.

Are we just ignoring the Tennessee loss then?

seems uconn only had 7 Quad1 games, far less than the others -- if it had those extra games, it would be a more legit comparison, so the criterion is weighted against uconn regardless of the results, right? if so, while that criterion is OK, it should not have outsized influence.
And if UConn had gone 6-1 in those games, they'd likely be a 1 seed, possibly the first or second 1.

How would UConn get a 1 seed? The committee had us at #6 overall. The only team ahead of us who lost was Notre Dame, which in an absolute best case scenario could bump us to #5.

Persecution complex is something else.

Discounting, not ignoring, as Azzi Fudd was still ramping up playing time, reintegrating into squad, and Sarah Strong was progressing through her freshman year. But, technically, point taken, 1 loss. Still top seed overall, for me, against the current run of form in the leagues.

Azzi came back against USC on Dec. 21. The Tennessee game was on Feb. 6. Surely by Feb. 6 she was ramped up and reintegrated?

CC has picked UConn in his personal final four.:)

In bracketology, he only tries to predict what the committee will do. So he is predicting what teams the committee favors, and the excuses he uses are the published criteria for the committee seeding process.

Who cares what Charlie Creme thinks? It baffles me how anyone, except perhaps out of loyalty to their team, could think that UConn should be a 1 seed this year. They are an absolutely legitimate 2 seed, no lower, but to rank them as a1 [uts them ahead of UCLA (which will be a very bad match-up for them), Notre Dame (Hidalgo loves to pay UConn. Need say more?); USC (JuJu is like Hidalgo in this regard) and Texas (which looks to me to present all sorts of matchup problems as well).

Is UConn a good team? Absolutely. Will they go far in the NCAAs? Sure, barring some weirdness in the scheduling. But they just don't have the record to merit a 1 seed, no matter what the margin of victory at Marquette is.

There is the quality of roster and the quality of record. ND arguably has the higest quality roster and the worse quality record, so how would you seed them. Arguably ND and Uconn have the best rosters and the worst records, should either be a one seed

The UNC was without TWO starters: Allyssa Utsby 6'1" and
without another STARTER: # 10 Reniya Kelly, 5'7" Sophomore
Guard who had started 28 out of 28 games. Kelly's FG % is .436, her
three point % is .419 and her free throw % is .857 with a 10.1 ppg average.
Please note: her assist total is 63, her turnover total is 36 with an A/T.O.
ratio of 1.75. So Utsby was not the only factor in UNC's loss to
DUKE. The source of this information is the UNC WBB webpage.
check the source by going to the UNC webpage and clicking "NEWS" and read the game article. The KELLY data is also from the UNC WBB web page chick on "STATS" (as of 3/1/2025). It should be an interesting ACC Conference TOURNAMENT!

See additional information under this thread topic, i.e. # 43, about UNC Starter Reniya. Kelly was also "out" for this game vs DUKE. Do you think that
UCONN, or any team, might lose a game to a quality opponent if TWO of the HUSKY
starters were unable to play? I think so. Both teams UNC and DUKE are VERY GOOD. The UNC loss however must in viewed in the CONTEXT of my original comment: thread # 14. The Tar Heels were down TWO Critical Players.
