Official Bracket Thread

There can only be 2 teams from the same conference in any bracket (unless the conf has >8 teams), so some PAC teams are going to end up in every region.

Folks have complained about USF being in UConn's bracket for years, and they STILL HAVENT PLAYED. This is much ado about nothing.
Thank you for this. I genuinely didn't understand, but it makes sense.

Virginia and Oklahoma both in, for the bubble watchers.

Rankings in polls aren't the same as the seedings. Anyway 25 ranked teams, 4 regions, so each region would have approximately 6 ranked teams +/- a little right?

I agree, but you think the #1 overall seed should be the region that gets the most Top 25 in it?

You do realize it's unlikely that it would get to UConn vs. USF in the tournament.

The following have to happen:
1. USF defeat FSU on their home court in round 2 -- very unlikely; road teams do not as a simple matter of fact win very often in the women's tournament first two rounds.
2. USF would then have to defeat South Carolina, the 2 seed in our region.

Then and only then would they get to play us for the regional final. Kind of unlikely.... But if they beat both the 2 and 3 seeds in our region, they will have earned the right in my opinion.

Let's see the rest of the brackets. Really does not look like a murders row to me. Rankings in polls mean zip at this point. Are you even slightly worried about either Georgia or Duke? I can't see either of them staying within 20 of UConn, and that's probably being generous.

So South Carolina is the lowest 2???
I realize the women's tourney always does wacky things but #1 should match up with the worst 2nd seed. So a team from the "toughest" conference, which BTW they have won FOUR years in a row is the worst #2 ???

How do you place the team with the best attendance in an already sold out Regional? Not sure what SC has done to the NCAA but it is clear they don't like us, especially after send us west the past 3 years and now placing us agaisnt the #1 team.

Yes, they get the most, by one -- #1 overall seed should have the #8 team as 2 seed, #9 team as 3 seed, #16 team as 4 seed, #17 as 5 seed, #24 as 6 seed, #25 as 7 seed. 7 ranked teams; the other regions have 6 each. But we have the bottom two of the top 25, so that evens it out.

I wonder how they will split matchup Baylor and Texas vs Miss State and Louisville.

Most projections I saw had Oregon St. going to Athens, GA or Columbus, OH for the opening rounds. Didn't land in either location. So where are they going?
