Video with lots of highlights at the link:
11/6
Ayanna Patterson's senior season began Saturday, one day after her 18th birthday.
24 points (6-11 FG, 1-1 3-PT, 11-14 FT), 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block
I've seen her highlights before. What impresses me is he eyes are always up. That sounds easy but many player put there head down when driving by someone. She knows where the ball is without looking for it. What you want in a pg. Oh, she seems very fastWhat in the world?... KK Arnold is "generously" listed as 5'6" (allegedly) yet in these highlights most times she is the tallest person on the floor. Clearly she is a skilled player but is this really a highlight package to be proud of when you appear to be playing against grade school kids?
This looks like "Gabby Williams" to me. Damn is she athletic and have a good handle with the ball, or what?I like the FT percentage. After missing first 2 FT's, made 11-12. A positive development since she shot 60% from the line last year.

Kinda looks like Sophie. If she is as fearless she will be special.she reminds me a bit of Missouri's Sophie Cunningham with a better jump shot.......
Arnold is very good. Her best asset, and you don't have to know much about basketball to understand this, is that she moves at a faster pace than everyone else on the floor. My concern is the size and the ability to be a lead guard. Very much like Crystal Dangerfield although she was very good offensively, at that size she gives up a lot of clean looks from the perimeter.I've seen her highlights before. I do not following recruiting enough to have super detailed, factual responses but I’ll have at it anyways for funWho would you rather have in '23 and why?
I realize UCONN will likely not have roster spots for 5 players in '23 but don't let that stop you.
- Mikaylah Williams or Judea Watkins (SG)
- Madison Booker or Chloe Kitts (SF)
- Delaney Thomas or Cierra Toomey (PF)
- Breya Cunningham or Aliyah De Rosario (C)
- Ashlynn Shade or Kamorea Arnold (PG)
UCONN is/was recruiting both player.I asked this as a general question, and I was referred here.
Are we actively recruiting either Mikaylah Williams or Judea Watkins?
I think that for choices such as these, a major consideration should be how enthusiastic the recruit is about UConn vs. other schools. In any of these cases, if one person says that she has been watching UConn on TV since she was 6 and has wanted to go there since she was 10, while the alternative choice is ho-hum about UConn, that should count for a lot. And I think it does.Who would you rather have in '23 and why?

That's actually a good point (enthusiasm for UCONN) for example, it is my understanding that Ashlynn Shade has made "multiple" unofficial to Lady Vols already. Madison Booker on the other hand called two coaches for advice prior to her U16 USA basketball trials. One of those coaches was Geno and the other was Nikki McCray prior to her stepping down at MSU. Arnold came to a Scrimage and Toomey said she will definitely visiting UCONN and said things got real for her once UCONN offered. Cunningham and Watkins are of course West Coast kids and Cunningham has a HS teammate and has already visited Oregon. Delaney Thomas helped moved Azzi into her dorm room in late June.I think that for choices such as these, a major consideration should be how enthusiastic the recruit is about UConn vs. other schools. I’m down with 1. Williams and hoping she can be a scoring PG like Bueckers. 2. Kitts 3. Toomey for her multidimensional game.Who would you rather have in '23 and why?

1) I have and will continue to voice my preference for Watkins. However, if UConn wants to go toward Williams I ain't mad one bitWho would you rather have in '23 and why?
