Certainly look more often like the team we saw in the first half last night. If StJ could defensive rebound, shoot free throws and not turn the ball over nonstop in the second half it would have been a fairly easy win for them.

This Duke team and their size is gonna be tough to score on once they figure it out. Flaggs offensive game is far from a finished product.

Flagg as a defensive prospect is elite. But yeah his offensive game has room for improvement.

Ace is looking like the best offensive player of the class easily so far.

Only team that's really on my radar if UConn can be what I think they can be at the end of the season.
 
This feels like the kind of game where Dukes size defensively will just wear down AZ who is having an impossible time scoring, keeps trying to toss it into their big who looks like a deer on ice.

Duke did look really gassed late against UK so let’s see.

Caleb Foster pitching another stinker against a good team seems to the weak link in their starting lineup, but they do have options off the bench to cover that up.

If their guards start looking good they become scary. Flagg, the center, and the Knipple from Wisconsin are great. They're freshman though.
 
AZ is getting absolutely nothing easy - feels like even when they do score they have to fight for the points, has the feeling of a Duke runaway coming.

This may end up being one of the better Duke teams we’ve seen in a long time by March. They have NBA size and the length. Could see why Hurley is looking to move to the big guard system.

Meh… Duke might be pretty good but I think this Arizona team is also pretty bad. Scheyer doesn’t get the benefit of any doubt until he proves he can do anything with the talent he has

Baylor played a double OT game less than 24 hours before tip-off that they had to expend a lot of energy pressing during a comeback and then Tennessee shot the lights out in the 1st half and the game was over.

But they do have real defensive question marks in general.

Idk - it’s still going on the road against a preseason top 12 team and thoroughly embarrassing them offensively. AZ looks inept on offense. They might be lucky to crack 50.

Separately - we should start tapping this eastern euro big pipeline that AZ seems to have a tap into. I’d always like to have at least one 7ft plus eraser potential guy on the roster even if developmental, preferably over a 6 10 kid.

Also Scheyer looks a lot like the mean brother from Weird Science.
 
I watch everything I can. I don't know our team yet, nobody does. I like what we have and we have the best staff. So I look towards teams that are loaded, the only one I've seen so far that's super loaded is Duke. They're scary but it's the freshman who are terrifying.

Stayed up late to watch the Duke game and find it wild UNC going on after at 12 30.

The Duke frosh trio will be a force come March. Im with you that easily the highest ceiling I’ve seen.

The one other team I find to be really interesting right now is Kentucky. I think Pope is brewing something over there and that team may have juju that is going to play out in a very positive way this year.

Auburn and Gonzaga has some stuff too.

Pope is gonna be good there. I love that, I actually like Kentucky and them beinyahoo. Is great for the health of college basketball. I dislike Cal so mucbI rooted against them with fury but their fans are great minus the 1% of yahoos.

I like the Zags but I want to keep up the tradition of steam rolling
 
Duke has serious size and length so they will rebound and block . These guys are talented even if they stand around they will score and Kneuppel is automatic when left alone from 3. Flagg a tremendous driver and inside scorer.
Need a sophisticated offense generating easy looks to beat them and must turn them over and maybe depth to tire them out to miss shots. It is early and I hate to compliment but they look like a Final Four team.
 
Duke looking like 2015 Kentucky, gotta hope guard play and speed will take them down we have that but it’s a long road ahead, the journey is exciting.

What is also interesting is that the concept of winning with amazing freshman may not in fact be a dead in the portal era. With the Covid year gone, might balance things out a bit.

Good that Hurley is amping up the talent in recruiting.

Nah that ship has long sailed. Totally different physical make ups and gifts. SJ is fine just being SJ if he can just clean up the mental errors. Hurley knows who SJ is and how to use him, Samson just needs to hold up his end of it and stop with the dumb fouls. He’s never going to have a low post game of any consequence, he just needs to be the most consistent best version of himself.

Kentucky doesn’t deserve Pope. Their fans and admin don’t deserve him. He was absolutely their best choice and they didn’t want him. I like Mark Pope a lot. Kentucky is going to be really really good for a long time now with him and they ass backed into it. I’m happy for Mark Pope, I’m pissed that Kentucky doesn’t suffer though. Them being good is good for hoops no doubt, but after dealing with those fans after Cal left and them thinking they were getting Hurley and how they handled it, I wish nothing but misery for them .

The only 3 starting Cs bigger than Reed (both taller and heavier) are Dickinson, Kalk, and Amari Williams. Karaban is stronger than Flagg. Liam is the same size as Knipple. Ball is stronger than Proctor. Foster is bigger than AM/Diarra but that’s it. Off the bench Ross/Stew/Samson are comparable to James/Gilis/Brown.

We appear to be on a collision course with them in the East regional.

Gonzaga, Auburn, and Duke. Those are the best three I’ve seen so far. Marquette right behind.Kentucky too.

They wanted the best coach in the country but he isn't leaving Connecticut.

There's nothing wrong with them thinking they can get the best, it's the biggest program in the sport with the most passionate fanbase.
