Over five decades and he was a great coach and a great recruiter. But he is no HurleyThis is silly, coach K won 5 national championships.

K had crème de la crème to work with every year, 5 stars lined up. He did great things but look at what Calhoun had to work with and for that matter Hurley. What was Sanogo’s ranking?K's career > Hurley's. It's not even close. Hurley could pass K, and it looks like he has the skill set to do so. But he'll need to stay at an elite level for the next 20 years.
Scheyers deficiencies were clear in his first year. They are still there. He just isn’t a very good in game coach. Maybe he’ll get there one dayScheyer…brings all this talent so two guys can take 40 shots in a game. He doesn’t know how to coach a team, no real system. 12 assists on 28 made baskets…UK with Pope 17/25. Duke 17% on 3s…As far as the ending, Scheyer just puts it in Flaggs hands to go win it for Duke, doesn’t draw up anything to get the ball to the guy in the best position to score….Im happy for Pope, and strangeky enough, somewhat sad for Flagg.
YSU Penguins vs Siberia U. Checks outI think YSU takes the next game against Cuse. A new rivalry forming.
I will point out that when Koach K first came to Duke people wanted to fire him after the first few years. He really struggled through a few losing seasons after Bill Foster retired and left Duke, after bringing them to the National Championship game with stars Mike Gminski and Jim Spanarkle.K's career > Hurley's. It's also a "other ncaambb games" thread so I think we can probably talk about any game we want without him getting in his feelingsI think only because UConn played Mississippi Valley State last year. And people were complaining about playing the very worst cupcakes. So people are glad UConn is not playing them this year.
Don’t worry they’ll still disappoint come March and April.Haven't been watching much. Early indications would suggest that the Big Ten is pretty good.
CorrectHe's just not good enough to see the floor at Quinnipiac?
Man, Richie Springs barely being in the rotation at Quinnipiac continues to puzzle me. 6'9 and fluid and a good rebounder. He's not even hitting the glass in limited minutes like he originally did at QU.
There's really no story there? No injury? He's just not good enough to see the floor at Quinnipiac?
Jay Williams still claims Calhoun passed him over for Tony Robertson and that he would've gone to UConnSome guys just don't have game.
Two extremes for this:
Tony Robertson was blazing fast, a great shooter, good handle, could jump out of the building, but just didn't have "game". All the pieces were there, but the whole was less than the sum of the parts. He wasn't a bad player, and there were times he would do something that would take your breath away, but he could just never consistently put it all together.
Khalid El-Amin was short and slow, with short T-Rex arms, and did not exactly have the physique of a top level D1 athlete, but he just had game.
They were picked 4th preseason in the Mountain West and basically lost their entire team from last season.I don't know how good SDSU is supposed to be this year but Gonzaga looks pretty impressive so far
