November General CBB Discussion Thread (Non-BE)

Shotmaking in Dayton/BYU these last few minutes has been ridiculous. Dybantsa making alot of smart decisions and nice passes out of these double teams.
Coach Grant's plan is interesting and confounded AJ for a little bit until AJ and Coach Young caught on. They had 5'10' Bennett guarding him and then brought he 7 footer over for the double team when AJ posted up Bennett 12 feet from the basket.

Can we get Dayton in the BE already?
When talking to the Dayton fans in Maui last year, I can tell you their fans are passionate. Their fan told me "you might think we are little old Dayton, but we show out at tournaments" and he was right. They were loud and proud in Maui and I see a large contingent of their fan base at Atlantic 10 road games.

What's my point? I agree with you, cellocgg, I would love it if they were in the Big East, but there is one big obstruction to that happening........

.....

.....

......

Xavier won't allow it. The Dayton fan was telling me Xavier is really opposed to Dayton joining the Big East. I don't know the bylaws of the Big East, but if unanimous decision is required for new teams to join the Big East, I don't think Xavier is going to budge.

We should kick X out just to make room for Dayton

Saw this picture during the game tonight. So one Flyer joined the Big East 😉

You realize this can change as teams play? What Michigan just did is the most impressive basketball of the year, and it’s not close.

Definitely a little homerism in this. Tarris would have a hard time finding easy baskets around a nimble 7’3” guy who blocks shots.

Morez is a much better inside player than AK, who is not a great inside player. We’d have to space them out and run out stuff. Pound for pound they are more talented.
Malachi on Cadeau will disrupt their offense enough for us to win by our usual double digits.

Ok Let’s go through the matchups you’re so big on:
Reed>Mara (indisputable)
AK=Morez
Stew<Yaxel (indisputable)
Ball>Burnett (assuming Ball gets his 3 back)
Silas>Cadeau (indisputable)

Smith>Cason
Mullins=McKenney
Ross<Gayle
Reibe>Tschetter

Edit: Hurley>May
Edit: UConn +4
You're giving Gayle too much credit.
And, for the others drooling over Michigan's size, as UConn showed today against a huge, highly touted lineup, just because a team is big (Mara) doesn't mean they're better.

Ummmmm......Michigan just beat Gonzaga 40 who beat Alabama by 10 who beat Illinois by 4. That was a pretty epic beatdown. But I like the rosy glasses.
Since we beat Illinois by 13, and Alabama only beat Illinois by 4, your scenario would conclude that UConn would therefore beat Gonzaga by 130 because that's 3.25 times as much.

I noticed Illinois did that a few times today also. When you raise your arm, lead with your forearm to push off the defender multiple times on a drive to the basket with such force that the defender is pushed backwards, isn't that an easy offensive foul call?
Depends who the refs like in the game. I've seen several disgracefully called games already this year.

Transitive property can be a female dog sometimes.

Though I’m not 100% sure if that 3.25 carries through all the transfer across the 4-team equation. If you do that, we beat Michigan by 1,300 pts. @Jay-Bone can you weigh in?

Make it a combo and kick out DePaul as well.
Wait, DePaul is on the rise, just beat ACC Georgia Tech yesterday. I know it does not erase the last 10 years of bad. Although I think Holtzman has a respectable team this year.

They got smoked by Buffalo at home too. They are not good. GT has a KP of like 115+.

Arizona struggling with Norfolk St, up 1 after 10 minutes

I’m sure they’ll pull away and win by 20 but lollllll

I hope AZ doesn’t lose again until we beat them in the natty. A la Florida in 2014
It’s going to be really interesting to see how many of the top 4 today make it to the F4 (UConn, AZ, Purdue, UM). I’m saying 2.

Man…G Tech is struggling bad.

I have a personal connection there and it sucks to see them play this poorly.
