Bad news for McKenna Woliczko.

Dang....this injury -- the ACL -- almost seems to be a rite of passage for way-too-many players (It was just announced Ashlyn Watkins suffered a similar injury).

Al the best to her during surgery and rehab and hope to see her distinct brand of hustle and smarts sooner rather than later.

In the midst of the dual point guard attack that comprises Olivia Miles and Hannah Hidalgo, Coach Ivey of Notre Dame is looking ahead to when Hidalgo (due to graduate in 2027) is no longer on the court.

To that extent, she's made offers to several point guards:
  • Class of 2026: Kate Harpering and Autumn Fleury, both of whom have visited Notre Dame; and,
  • Class of 2027: Kaleena Smith and Jezelle Banks (noted above in the post by ND Hoops Recruits).
All, of course, are being offered by many schools: Banks by South Carolina, LSU and Texas, in addition to the Irish.
For more background, click on the link within the post.

Hey...anyone:
Need a reminder on changes to/timing of official visits...
  • I know a prospect can now have unlimited official visits but only take one per school.
  • However, when can they start doing so? It used to be just after the Women's Finals, but I could've sworn that was moved up (February?), but my google isn't reacting with zounds of proof.
Can someone verify and/or set me straignt?

Thanks.

My interpretation is any time after June 1 of their soph year of highschool except during recruiting dead periods . I think there is a dead period during the finals that ends “just after the “women’s finals”

Thx for feedback.
I've seen many trips the Class of 2026 have taken in late 2024 and even just after New Years 2025 referred to as "unofficial" and, yes, they comply with the rules and times designated by the NCAA.

Can't get the idea that the "official" visits (the ones paid totally by the school) has been moved up to February of their junior year or so (but not as early as Sept. of their junior year).

Hmmm, what was she thinkin

BYU isn't good today but I am guessing their Canadian freshman Delaney Gibb will be freshman of the year in the Big 12. One of the top freshman last year in the Big 12, Kailey Woolston, is on an 18-month "mission" and will be back. She was the top three point shooter in the league last year. Going to have a good guard court at some point in the future.

Thanks for filling in the blanks....

A friend told me Princeton is good today, tomorrow, and forever, and lifetime wampum likely exceeds a little up-front NIL

Jordyn Jackson, #9 2026 G out of Sidwell Friends School, has narrowed her list of 16 schools down to 6. From her posted Top 16, TCU, Maryland, South Carolina, Alabama, and Miami made the cut and then she has added Ohio State to the list.

This rule is violated pretty regularly and I think mostly because it doesn't make much sense in certain circumstances. For example, say you have a recruit that is an international player, but they attend a school in the US. The only option you have is the family home if you do a home visit in the home country. If the family isn't comfortable opening up their home, then what? Just seems stupid that you can't do the visit somewhere else.

.-.

Hold on. Context is required for this as I recall reading this article. Yes Tennessee got flagged for a violation, however two other programs did the same thing per the recruit and nothing has come out about them yet.

A quote from the article:

"The prospect confirmed to the compliance office that coaches from other schools had already visited her at that location before UT did. A university spokesperson told Knox News that UT doesn't know if the other schools were reported for the same violation.

But the indication is that no one had a problem with how the prospect was recruited until the Lady Vols came on the scene."

Apparently it's a minor violation as the coach completed an off-site visit at the business of the recruit's parent.

Apparently, Jacy Abii was not the only guard from the Class of 2026 to visit ND during the past weekend when Cal played ND.
Olivia Jones, the 6'0" combo guard from Lutheran High School in Long Island was in the recruiting section and greeted after the game by her former LuHi and current Irish player, Kate Koval. According to Raoul, Jones -- as of this month -- has an offer from ND, the third LuHi player to have one, including Savvy Swords and Sanai Green (who transferred to LuHi this year).

2025 Aaliyah Chavez's Lubbock Monterey H.S. team advances to the Texas State Championship Semi-finals. So, her high school career continues with a game later in the week and a possible championship game March 1. Texas head coach Vic Schaefer was in attendance for the win in the Regional final championship game Friday afternoon in Abilene, TX.

Texas Tech head coach, Krista Gerlich was in attendance for Chavez's Regional semi-final game on Tuesday night. Texas coaches at game on Friday afternoon. I'll be surprised if she doesn't land at one of those two in-state schools.

I still think it will be Tech. Chavez can go there and be the universe. At Texas, she will be asked to fit in.

It's hard for me conceive of this outcome. I assume Tech is a hometown "finalist"

Oklahoma seems like a great stylistic fit.

I also think the fact that Chavez is waiting longer to make her decision points to going elsewhere. Avoids having to spend a year in Lubbock with everyone knowing you spurned them

Playing style wise definitely is

If she wants to win and play for a big program it'll be TX

if she wants to be a hometown hero Tech is an option in addition to possible $$ from boosters

Tech coach fate likely gonna be tied to landing her or not.

She may be waiting to see who Tech hired at session’s end.
