As some of our other potential targets like Miles and Citron committed elsewhere, I figured this was pretty probable given that her GPA is 4.75, and how vocal Harriel has been that Stanford is her dream school:

Agree on Iriafen a likely (hopeful) Stanford and von Oelhoffen being Stanford or Oregon State, but FWIW, Marshall has not been on our board's (quickly shrinking) long list, so that would be news to me. If HoopGurlz ~50th ranked Jzaniya Harrriel is offered, she will almost certainly commit as she has been aggressively repping Stanford as her dream school. So a class of Demetre, Iriafen, von Oelhoffen, and Harriel is our probable realistic best bet. There's been little recent indication Fudd is strongly considering Stanford. If one of those doesn't come through, Tara has signed a Canadian or Aussie in four of the past five seasons, so that's a possible route too, and those commitments tend to come out of no where at the very end of the cycle.

Great to see her dream has come true!! Welcome to the Farm!

Feagin is also a little raw. As much upside as any other player in the class, but her backing up Amihere at the 4 for two years would be very beneficial.

I'm interested in seeing how much fluidity Amihere can regain and how much she can improve in general with no offseason work.

I think no early enrollments and skill work will make for an interesting season for everyone. I've felt veteran clubs will have a huge advantage across the board in sports after covid, but maybe that's not right.

Might this potentially benefit Oregon State regarding Talia von Oelhoffen? Beavers are competing mightily with Stanford for her and up to now, Stanford was not getting the guards they wanted for 2021. The more guards Stanford picks up for 2021 not named Talia, the better for OSU, at least theoretically. On the other hand, Talia may have little concern about competition for PT at Stanford (ie. Harriel's commitment to Stanford is a non-factor.)

I don't think so at all

So Staley tweeted a picture of a bucket of peaches yesterday, which was either a hint at the commits or one of her regular what's cooking tweets.

I'm genuinely not sure.

I do think I'll make my formal guess be Raven Johnson and Sania Feagin in effort to play a percentage here.

if that's the case, I think they'd still want a bigger guard given the offers that are out.

would still have Rivers, Fudd, Bree Hall, and teonni key out there.

Everything that I have seen to date suggests that R Johnson has been a South Carolina lean for a while. However, I hope that S Feagin has not committed as there seems to be very few post players in this class, especially ones of her caliber.

I took it as the latter. I don’t believe she’s dropping clues about the recruits. Don’t recall her doing that in the past. The ‘heads up‘ chirps were enough and eventually the identities revealed themselves.

I think Feagin and Key are pretty similar.

Key might end up being something more like Rickea Jackson and Feagin might be more of a four, but could go either way for both.

I actually think Key might be a little better right now.

Thanks. I’m not as familiar but thought T Key was more of a wing that could swing to the four but is limited in what she can do there. I understood that S Feagin was more of a four/five. I didn’t realize she could effectively also play the perimeter. That makes the post depth in this class even thinner.

I don't see Feagin as a wing, necessarily, but she has some handle and range to build on.

I think Key could play 4 pretty easily. particularly after getting stronger.

what about Jillian Hollingshead? are both Key and Feagin that much better then her?

Sounds like wishful thinking.

Saniya Rivers committing to South Carolina according to Gamecocks 247Sports site:

”She just informed another staff she's heading to Dawn Staley and the Gamecocks.”

For me this puts Teonni Key in play as possibly the other commit or a future commit. Those two hung together the whole game when Tennessee played in Columbia this season. Key later made a return visit to watech SC’s last regular season game against TAMU.

I think Key will head to Tennessee.

Big get for Stale !

Unless Rivers gave them the OK, I hate when the recruit doesn’t get to break the news.
True, but this is what happens when the game of WBB grows. Happens in football, MBB, etc. name of the game people are going to talk. I think it’s great people get so excited about the recruit. Yeah not awesome for recruit but this is going to happen if the game keeps expanding.

Feagin is not a true post. If anything she’s a stretch 4. A little raw but has sky high potential. Very similar to Herbert-Harrigan. HH was VERY raw when she got to SC and left as one of our best post players in terms of shooting. She had a borderline automatic jumper.

Congrats GCF77, nice get! Your programs is a beast! Good stuff for years to come.

Thanks, I'm thrilled.

I wasn't expecting Rivers to drop...thought we'd be in it to the end, but was afraid of the N.C. schools and Tennessee. Thought it would linger on until maybe Fudd announced.

espn scared me a bit by repeatedly omitting S.C. from her interest list in articles, but appears they just don't know much.

Key and Feagin both look a legit 6'3 or 6'4, which gives them more size inside.

I think Herbert-Harrigan's shooting/shot blocking is an ideal skill set

Does SC run a good 1/2 court offense or do they get out and run using superior athleticism?

i think last season did both pretty well.

Before that they seemed to not play particularly fast, but I don't have access to pace stats.

We are an uptempo transition team.. we like playing up defensively, getting turnovers and offensive putbacks. But this past season I was pleasantly surprised by how well we executed in the half court.

That’s what made this past year’s team better than any other at SC IMO. We could beat you by running you off the court.. and we could slow it down and play you in the half court, but either way you always ended up playing at SC’s pace. SC finally has a roster of skilled players, not just athletically superior players. Our girls are now just as skilled and probably more athletic than most teams.

I like Dawn so I kinda like the SC program if I’m allowed to say that lol. However we all know that nothing will be right in the WCBB world until UConn wins another NC. Right?

Not so quietly.
They are getting better recruits than usual. They already have a scary young team with 4 freshmen and sophmores so they will be good for a long time. I dont like that !
