Non-UConn recruiting thread - 2025

I'm not sure where she's ranked or if she's ranked at all, but Oregon St. got a recent commit from a player from the Seattle area. 2026 combo guard Ashley Uusitalo from Lake Washington HS.
 
2027 multi-sport athlete Haylen Ayers of Tennessee made her second unofficial to Texas in the last 10 months. She is the daughter of former Vanderbilt hoopster Ashley McElhiney.

 
I wonder how many recruits take an attitude when committing to a school of "well, this will be my first stop. I'll transfer later if I don't like it or if my NIL value increases."

I mean, getting a win over UConn last season did impress recruits, I'm sure. Tennessee also lost to hapless Georgia a couple of weeks later at home. Still, I'd say the win over UConn more impactful than the loss to Georgia was detrimental as far as recruiting.

What? I thought they were all 100% committed. Except for the ones who are 1000% committed. Maybe that word doesn't mean what it used to.

I was surprised, too, when I saw her Instagram posts back in the Spring. But, that is where she specified "official" visits. I know I posted links to her photo shoots at UCLA and Notre Dame earlier in this thread. As far as any new "rule" about earlier timeline for official visits, I have not seen any.

But, there has been no social media talk of any upcoming visits to UCLA and Notre Dame; so, I'm assuming it's because those visits earlier in the year were offiicial visits.

Thx. Still think there's a disconnect there given what you and I have discussed. In any case, I'll pay attention to see if she does come to ND or UCLA, which may confirm the "OV" angle or demonstrate she's no longer interested.
 
According to fellow Benchers, Madison Scott posted on her Instagram Story that she'll make her announcement on Monday, Sept. 22, the first day of fall. Presumably, it will come down to her three finalists -- Clemson, Michigan or Notre Dame -- all of whom she's taken Official Visits to recently. Here's a school posting on the subject.

Addison Bjorn apparently will be very busy making the rounds to 7 schools.
She's apparently on ND's campus (Sept. 19) as I type. This OV is on top of an unofficial visit she took to ND last October during an ND-Stanford football game.

2026 Aaliah Spaight and Joyce Isi Etute are visiting Texas officially this weekend along with Jacy Abii. Abii and Spaight were both at LSU last weekend.


 
Skim Mulkey is at it again! I think this is Julia Scott (#25 in ESPN Hoopgurlz 2026). She went to visit ND last weekend. I had high hopes she would be ND.

If true, Coach Poppie is doing a good job since taking over this program from a recruitment perspective.

Hey @cancontent , do you know anything about Daniella McLean from Ontario? She's all of a sudden showing up on Washington's roster as a Fr. REALLY late add to the '25 recruiting class.

Can't say this is any kind of surprise, but it still serves as one more indication of what a terrible recruiting season this has been for Vanderbilt, which made her finalist list but didn't get a visit.

Obviously you have never been to a game when the REAL Carolina 🤪 drives the 10 miles to Cameron for a game. It's so loud in there you can't even hear the clank of the many brick shots hitting the rim when the two play 😞😒
