8th grader takes back her 6th grade verbal commitment to Texas Tech. BTW, this player went to the Texas/UConn game, got pics with Lexi Gordon and KLS, and said they are two of her favorite players.

Not quite sure which thread (UConn or Non-UConn) this post falls, since it involves a recruit that is most certainly of interest/interested in UConn, but is still visiting this other school. So here's the Non UConn post. And, btw, just delivering this as a news item.

Paige Bueckers was spotted in South Bend this past Sunday, taking in the Notre Dame - Clemson basketball game. She and a friend were seen (by ticket holders who contribute to McGraw's Bench) where most recruits/commits who attend these games sit. 2018 Commit Danielle Cosgrove and her parents were also at the game. This is the second (known) time that Bueckers has been on the Notre Dame campus, previously having visited with a contingent of 2019, 2020 and 2021 recruits during a fall 2017 fall football weekend.

Anything about Paige Bueckers belongs on the UConn recruiting page only.

Hence, the dilemma in choosing the proper thread...damned if you do, darned if you don't ;). Heck, anything with Paige not linked to a Husky emblem will engender this kind of reaction, which is why I played it straight.

Heard it was warmer than usual (40) and foggy/misty, so maybe Paige and guest decided to enjoy some of that fine South Bend winter weather .

We often deal with potential recruits visiting other schools. Not the best news but a fact of life. Of course, we at the BY want to know every detail on our targets movements etc. and putting it in the non UConn thread may cause many to miss it since not everyone would open it. Thanks for providing the BY with interesting info.

Will keep in mind for next time around, regarding recruits our respective institutions both have a mutual interest, such as Paige, Sam Brunelle, Azzi Fudd, etc.

I've been waiting three years for this great kid's announcement....I once asked if she was UConn material......I guess not but it looks like she did OK in the end......just wish it was a different team...

Faith Masonius on Twitter

While putting together a post on Ramani Parker somewhere, went to Hoopgurlz 2019 and saw at that time that Louisville (yesterday p.m.) was one of three P5 teams that had two commitments, the others being Florida State and Maryland. The Terps have now jumped into the lead with the three mentioned. Quality recruits.

We've all noted that Jeff Walz likes to recruit early and often, but sometimes forget that he worked for Brenda Freese for years, so perhaps that approach was picked up at College Park?

Interesting, I never even thought of Maryland has a landing spot for her, but Brenda does recruit NJ. In looking at the Masonius tweet trail, seems like PhillyBelles had something to do with this. If that's the case, I wonder where other members of the Belles roster (Watson, Burke and now Campbell) might end up.

Good luck, Faith.

The Philly Belles people (Flynn, Lynch) have close relationships with a handful of coaches. Frese and McGuff are at the top of that list. Geno is not when it comes to Flynn. Lynch has worked with the UConn staff (CD) on visits for Belles players like Watson and Burke.

Probably less than six degrees of separation here. Kevin Lynch's daughter was a team manager for Brenda during MD's championship season along with former Lynch coached Belles (Laura Harper & Crystal Langhorne). Two of Kevin's former Belles players (Dara Taylor and Katie Rutan) also played for Brenda. Katie Rutan originally played for Kevin McGuff at Zavier then transferred to MD to play for Brenda. Dara Taylor transferred from MD to Penn State which is another possible destination for some of these Belles players.

As was his niece. Lots of connections there.

Thanks for connecting the dots...always appreciate learning relevant things! ND (Muffet, Niele Ivey) have one current BlueBelle (Mik Vaughn) and another (Danielle Cosgrove) coming out this fall. Don't know where in the pecking order MM/NI fall, but Mik Vaughn was playing well before the ACL went and seems to be enjoying both team and campus. Wonder if they work with Lynch as well, since Watson and Burke also came out to South Bend for the massive group gathering Niele organized this past fall.

Alli Campbell, the 2020 guard from Pennsylvania, is moving her AAU allegiance to PhillyBelles this semester based on a hometown paper article I read a week or two ago.
allison-campbell

she's quite a good player............maybe a teeny bit behind the best 2020 guards but still quite a quality fall back choice for somebody...........
