Again...baseball is funny...

During season...FSU sweeps Florida 3-0, Clemson sweeps FSU 3-0...yet Clemson loses to the Lizards.

Game 3 is good game so far in Athens. 3-3 in third.

As Sox fan it was cool to see Trot Nixon’s son Luke playing for NC Stsre.

Since I have no horse in the race, I will be rooting for NC State since they were sent home from 2021 CWS due to COVID protocol and not allowed to play Vanderbilt. I'm not even sure if anyone remains on the team from 2021.

ABFS...............Anybody But Florida State

FSU got the draw to open with Tennessee...the national #1 seed....they will lose that game and don't have the arms to come out of the loser's bracket.

But you never know...FSU had 5 wins in regular season over teams now in the CWS.

You’re right you never know. FSU beat UConn mostly with the long ball. And according to Ben McDonald, it will be much tougher to hit homers in Omaha. This could favor teams like Kentucky.

Depends on where the wind blows...blows in..and homers are tough..but field dimensions aren't really out of the ordinary.

CWS...The outfield fence measures 335 feet down the left field line, 375 feet to left-center, 408 feet to center field, 375 feet to right-center, and 335 feet down the right field line.Jun 16, 2023

FSU's field is 340 down left...400 center...320 down right (with 10 foot wall and 30 foot screen in right). 365 left center and 360 right center.

But I remember the gorilla ballers of LSU and the Vols look like them...They will hit some out.

  • The 2024 Vols have hit the second-most home runs by a single team in NCAA history (166). The top holder, 1997 "Geauxball" LSU, won their College World Series.

Not a bad showing against the #1 Vols...were one more strike from winning....but we knew the bullpen was weak going in...
Their defense did FSU no favors either. West dropping the ball in second allowed two runs to be scored after two strikeouts. He didn’t hold onto ball with two hands on tag at plate. TN runner was out easily.

They have gaping holes, courtesy of their last coach. High end talent and a Penders level coach in Jarrett has dragged them to Omaha. They’ll be much more of a threat to actually win championships 2 years from now.

It was a judgement call away from a Nolw win...this was called a checked swing...a strike, and the game was over..

Ferrer continued his streak of homers started against UConn in the Super Regional. What was surprising was their shortstop hitting one as well.

This was the least competitive game so far in CWS. Hopefully Tennessee/ North Carolina is s better game.
