All the more reason I believe the elusive CWS may actually happen this season. FSU will be tough to get past. Get in their bullpen asap in game 1 while the effects will be felt throughout the series. The heat and the narratives that the umps will wanna move the game along due to the heat etc etc…don’t play into em’. Have some good early AB’s, jumping on the first pitch can wait til game 2 and 3 if necessary, get in the pen, imo. I know you need two wins to advance, but take the first and set urself up for 3 games. UConn’s depth will probably be the difference again. Who’d have thought that in April! It’s true though. Better weekend staff and some big arms out the pen.

"Gorilla Ball"...or "Small Ball"...or Pitching ?

This year...it may be Gorilla Ball...Evansville hit four round trippers to become the 1st #4 seed to beat an Overall #1 in tournament history. They lead Tennessee 1-0. Can they keep it up ? They were #39 in HR's this season.

The teams that have already punched their ticket to Omaha are all in the top 20 for total home runs this season...of those still playing for it...five teams are in top 20.

ERA...four teams in the bracket are top 20...Tennessee is #2. Texas A&M #5...Oregon State #7...UNC #15...

Clemson #21...Oregon #29...FSU #44....

NC State, Georgia, Florida (outside top 50)

Tennessee & Evansville are even @ 1 game apiece. Game 3 today @ 6p.

Funny thing...the ACC and baseball.

UNC, FSU, Virginia on the way to Omaha...NC State and Clemson still playing for it...tough competition.

BUT...the ACC can't push through at the CWS...two NC's in 70 years.

The SEC has won the last four...and since 2000, teams now in the SEC have won 12.

Florida's Caglione is a slugger...#3 this year in home runs...

The Gator's recruit some long ball hitters...
